As a titans fan for the last 15 years, I have seen multiple Titans teams surprise me, though most in a negative manner. With that being said, what is your biggest surprise to this point both positive and negative?
Personally, I would have to say the secondary has been the pleasant surprise for me this year. Entering this season, I fully expected to field a mediocre secondary and to be routinely scorched in the passing game. With the addition of Pollard, we have began getting back to the physical brand of football that has us a top football just a few years ago. I believe we now have opposing quarterbacks respecting our secondary now, I just hope it continues.
On the opposite side, I believe the biggest negative surprise is the complete lack of a running game. Chris Johnson simply can not play any more, atleast not per the eye test. CJ2k is running simply on "name value" and it simply is not cutting it. As a fan, I'm not sure how many more games I can watch where Chris "fills the stat sheet" with 13 carries for 28 yards. Despite his enormous advantage in talent, I wouldn't mind seeing a complete committee approach from today on. Jackie Battle is not a workhorse back but I do like his physical style of running, the same can be said for Green (when healthy). Maybe if we run the ball 25 times on sunday but split the carries evenly among Battle/Johnson we will see a better result.
