Seems like forever since the Bruins played lol. Looking forward to get to game action here and the schedule will start picking up over these next few weeks. Hoping the Bruins can continue building off their game against the Red Wings on Saturday and looking back at the highlights, the PP looked great, and hopefully that will continue.

Looking forward to Colorado who is a very interesting young team.

Some nice opportunities early for the B's...some big rebounds and that one where the puck was sitting in front of Gigure for like 5 seconds but Lucic just couldn't get to it. Great save by Rask!!!

The Avs are getting some solid shots in...B's need to tighten up the defense a bit.

However, it has appeared the B's have been keeping the path clear to give Rask clearer looks...no screening but it's allowing teams to get a great deal of shots in on Rask. Rask though has looked incredibly sharp and on everything.

    Back to the PP!

3rd line has looked really good, I hope Soderberg's return doesn't mess up the chemistry.

First PP of the game for the Avs here.

I'm really impressed by Krug this game...I love how aggressive he has been and really trying to generate opportunities...same with Boychuk

Colorado is no joke. They're going to be fun to watch the next couple years. Tons of young talent. MacKinnon is legit. 18yrs old and extremely gifted.

Not a bad first period. The Avs certainly seem like a very exciting young team and they remind me of the Bruins somewhat. They play with tons of energy and have a great deal of speed and they are aggressive. They aren't afraid to take shot, get in down low, or be physical when they need to be.

As for the Bruins, they've certainly had their opportunities. Perhaps they are being outstrengthed but I wish they would be a bit more physical down low and get to some of the rebounds that have been generated. There were several instances where the puck was loose down low and Gigure could not get to it but the B's couldn't win the down low battles to get to the puck.

The B's also see that he is letting up tons of rebounds so they are opting to shoot from the perimeter, or a bit closer but if they are going to do this style, they have to work harder to get to those rebounds b/c right now the Avs are getting to them first.

Yeah I'm quite impressed with how little I've seen. Having Roy as their coach is certainly helping things as well. This team seems like they will be no joke and could be strong contenders sooner rather than later.

Didn't see the GA but watching the shots pile-up on the stat tracker I thought it was a matter of time before they scored. The stats look like they came out firing on all cylinders, but unless they maintain that they'll be in trouble.

It was a shot which was redirected so not much Rask could have done.

The Avs are certainly being aggressive and not afraid to take shots when given the chance. Also, the Bruins are actually giving the shots up. I made a bit of a mention in a previous post but it does seem like the B's are doing that. In fact, during the home opener, I think Brick was talking about how the Bruins want to open things up in front of the net more and allow Rask to get a clearer look at incoming shots, rather than stand in front of the net screening him. Not really sure if that's something I would agree with doing but if Rask is alright with it I guess it's fine.

All in all, I think the Bruins underestimated the speed of the Avs and realize they have to step up their game a bit. The Avs are quite young and the style of game they are playing with is not an easy one, so you would think that being young they would be prone to making mistakes. Thinking that, the Bruins definitely need to step it up and give the Avs a little taste of that game style b/c it seems rather similar to the Bruins.

I am disappointed with the first two lines though b/c they seem to be having trouble with such a young team. I think they should work down low more than they are and establish themselves. They are letting the Avs dominate down low and I think the Bruins should be winning this battle given experience and size...Colorado is young and I can't see many of their guys being stronger than are guys.
