    What if?

Lets play everyones fav game. If we drafted wade instead of bosh like vince wanted at the time how good could that duo have become?

What if we drafted bosh and vince stayed, how good could that duo have become?

With some help in either scenario which would have been better, and what would playoff life potential be 4 both?

Last I heard, Carter wanted to trade the pick because he wasn't waiting for development.

Agree that Wade would have been great to draft but don't think players (Carter in this case) should be the one making decisions. Listening to Carter is a big reason why the Raps were at #4 in that draft to begin with.

Yea, they clearly had a standoff and they needed to pick a side.

Either commit to a rebuild and trade Carter that offseason for a young player to pair alongside a rookie Bosh, OR they should've traded the 4th pick to keep Carter happy.

Grundwald did neither hoping Carter would wait and/or Bosh would develop into the help Carter at a quicker rate than realistic.

The gm's job is to do whats right for the team. If the Lakers listened to Kobe and tried to make him happy they wouldn't have won their last two titles and kobe likely wouldn't be a Laker now. Players shouldn't be getting the final word on team decisions, whether they are a star player or not.

Carter wouldn't be happy. We would have a logjam at the 2, Carter would be traded. Wade would sign extention and then leave Toronto to join Lebron James and Chris Bosh who are in Miami lol
