    Cardinals vs. Cubs Sep 27-29

Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Friday, September 27, 7:15 PM CDT, Busch Stadium
    Travis Wood, LHP
    9-11, 2.98 ERA
Wood has been the Cubs' most consistent pitcher. In his first full big league season, he leads the team in quality starts with 24), and is one inning shy of 200. He is 1-2 in four starts against St. Louis.
    Lance Lynn, RHP
    14-10, 4.09 ERA
After a rough stretch of outings, the right-hander has allowed just three earned runs in this past three starts, while fanning 21 batters over 18 2/3 innings. Lynn is 3-1 with a 1.73 ERA against the Cubs at Busch Stadium.
Saturday, September 28, 3:15 PM CDT, Busch Stadium
    Edwin Jackson, RHP
    8-17, 4.74 ERA
This hasn't been a year Jackson would like to remember. He leads the NL in losses, and it's been a struggle. He has been durable, third on the team in innings pitched. His last outing was encouraging, and a win could make it a better winter.
    Joe Kelly, RHP
    9-5, 2.81 ERA

Sunday, September 29, 1:15 PM CDT, Busch Stadium
    Jeff Samardzija, RHP
    8-12, 4.33 ERA
Samardzija is probably happy he doesn't have to face the Pirates. He won one of five starts vs. the Bucs this year, and that was Opening Day. He's set career highs in starts, innings pitched and strikeouts. He's a good road warrior (5-7, 3.87 ERA).
    Adam Wainwright, RHP
    18-9, 3.01 ERA

Magic number is 1. If the Pirates lose or we win, we win the division. Hopefully the team will be popping some bubbly tonight. Pirates play at 6 Central.

The cubs are pulling wood after 1 inning. That's ****ing spectacular

They want to protect his arm but let him get to 200 innings. They've gift wrapped this game for us. We just have to take care of business against an awful cubs bullpen

Tomorrow's game has been moved to 3:15 due to possible inclement weather.

Love all the great young pitchers. But hardly any good young hitters. Obviously Adams..but what else? Hopefully Taveras. Wong has been a huge bust so far.

I think Wong will be fine if he gets normal AB's.

    50 AB's in 30 games isn't enough for a young hitter

Yeah I don't understand why kelly isn't starting

The organization already hinted at Kelly going back to the pen in the playoffs so why not have him start? dumb

Does Matheny realize what's riding on this game?
