Milwaukee Brewers @ Atlanta Braves
Monday, 9/23 7:10 PM
Marco Estrada, RHP (6-4, 4.26 ERA)vs Mike Minor, LHP (13-7, 3.19 ERA)
Command has been key to Estrada's comeback after a two-month stint on the disabled list. Including his seven-inning outing against the Cubs on Tuesday, Estrada owns a 2.62 ERA in his seven starts off the DL.
Minor has battled inconsistent command while allowing at least three runs in five of his past seven starts. But after allowing three first-inning runs on Tuesday, he held Washington scoreless in his final five innings.
Tuesday, 9/24 7:10 PM
Tyler Thornburg, RHP (3-1, 1.96 ERA)vs Freddy Garcia, RHP (1-2, 1.31 ERA)
Thornburg will try to deliver his seventh quality start in seven tries this season. He threw exactly six innings in his first six and has not allowed more than two runs. His ERA is 1.96, including a 1.25 mark as a starter.
Garcia has proven effective while helping the Braves give some of their starting pitchers some extra rest down the stretch. The veteran right-hander has allowed two runs while totaling 13 innings in his two previous starts.
Wednesday, 9/25 7:10 PM
Kyle Lohse, RHP (10-10, 3.51 ERA)vs Paul Maholm, LHP (10-10, 4.44 ERA)
Lohse has not faced the Braves this season, but he is 3-1 with a 4.97 ERA in 10 starts against them in his career. In 15 starts on the road this year, Lohse has struggled to the tune of a 3-6 record and a 4.15 ERA in 86 2/3 innings pitched.
Maholm's previously tender left elbow did not provide him any problems as he tossed 5 1/3 innings against the Cubs on Friday. But he showed some rust as he frequently encountered trouble after the second inning.
