This time, the NFL isnít sending teams elsewhere to accommodate baseball.
According to Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com, the Raiders and Chargers wonít swap home games to avoid a potential conflict with the baseball playoffs.
Instead, theyíre still considering changes dates or times of existing games. As it stands, the Chargers are scheduled to go to the Oakland on Oct. 6, and the Raiders visit San Diego on Dec. 22.
But with the Oakland Aís possibly conflicting with the first date for a playoff game, there was discussion of a switch. Instead, theyíre considering a time change, or possibly playing the Oct. 6 football game on Monday, Oct. 7 if need be.
Baseball has to be loving this, after not budging on the NFLís preference to have the Ravens open at home. Instead, the defending champs started the season on the road at Denver while the Orioles played a relatively meaningless game against the White Sox.
MLB? Seriously? 20-40k (tops) vs NFL 40-60k fans av. p. game.
What? The Chargers donít care when they beat the Radiers; mon, tues, wed, thurs, fri, sat or a Sunday. Itís been embarrassingly easy for over a decade. :P I got a Charger friend whose got a Raider girlfriend, just so he can get beatÖ properly.
PS. I have some Raider friends, I forgive em, they know Iím j/kÖ itís a game.
