Grant and Jerry return; Kayte Christensen back

<<SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Sacramento Kings announced today that 70 of the team’s 82 games during the 2013-14 regular season will be televised on Comcast SportsNet California (CSN California). This year marks the 10th consecutive season that CSNCA has served as the Kings primary broadcast partner.

The Kings commitment to providing the best TV experience continues with production of Kings games by the organization’s 10-time Emmy Award-winning broadcast team, including all telecasts produced in High Definition (HD).

“Comcast SportsNet is committed to providing the region’s most comprehensive Kings coverage through this 70-game telecast schedule along with season-long news and analysis on SportsNet Central and Yahoo! SportsTalk Live,” said Ted Griggs, President of Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and Comcast SportsNet California. “Vivek Ranadivé and his executive team have done a terrific job in assembling one of the most dynamic franchises in the NBA. General Manager Pete D'Alessandro and Head Coach Michael Malone have a tremendous roster of players to work with and we are confident that the Kings will provide their passionate and loyal fans with a playoff-caliber season.”

“Our continued partnership with Comcast SportsNet California will once again allow us to provide excellent coverage and serve the most Kings fans possible on television,” said Kings President Chris Granger. “This season is the debut of a new era for Kings basketball in Sacramento, and we’re excited to collaborate with Comcast to share a variety of compelling storylines associated with this team.”

Popular mainstays Grant Napear and Jerry Reynolds will return to Kings TV as the play-by-play and color analyst, respectively. Napear enters his 26th season calling Kings basketball, serving as TV announcer from 1988-89 through 1993-94 and 1998-1999 to the present, in addition to three campaigns (1995-96 to 1997-98) as radio play-by-play announcer on KHTK (1140 AM). For Reynolds, the 2013-14 season marks his 29th with the franchise, a tenure distinguished by a multitude of roles. In addition to serving as the Kings head coach for nearly four seasons (1987-90) and Kings Director of Player Personnel from 1994-2013, Reynolds also acted as Sacramento Monarchs General Manager for six campaigns (1998-2003).

Additionally, Kayte Christensen will return to the Kings broadcast team and assume sideline reporting duties. The fan favorite and former WNBA standout begins her second stint with the organization after serving in a similar capacity from 2007-10, including a role as pregame and halftime host during Kings TV and radio programs.

CSN California tips-off its coverage on Friday, Nov. 1 when the Kings continue their opening home stand versus the L.A. Clippers.

The difference between Jim Gray and Kayte Christensen is like the difference between (insert any 2 extremes).

Kayte had to suck to get the job in the first place.

    So, of course she sucks.

She's so tall, that must get awkward for the execs.

Koz makes every situation so awkward. I hate his interviews.
