    Atlanta Braves (89-60) @ Washington Nationals (79-70) 9/16-9/18

    @

    Atlanta Braves @Washington Nationals

    Monday, 9/16 7:05 PM

Mike Minor, LHP (13-7, 3.15 ERA) vs Dan Haren, RHP (9-13, 5.02 ERA)

The ugliest start of Minor's career came against the Nationals on Aug. 17, when he allowed four runs, four hits, issued four walks and recorded just five outs. He threw six innings of two-run ball against the Nationals two starts before that.

Haren held the Mets to just one hit over six innings in his previous start, walking one and striking out eight. With one more win, he will reach double-digit victories for the ninth consecutive season.
    Tuesday, 9/17 7:05 PM

Freddy Garcia, RHP (1-1, 1.32 ERA) vs Tanner Roark, RHP (6-0, 1.30 ERA)

Garcia has been effective in two long relief appearances since joining the Braves on Sept. 1, and he allowed only one run in six strong innings in Thursday's win in Miami, his first Major League start since June 23.

Roark has been spectacular in limited action this season, winning each of his two Major League starts. On Tuesday, he will look to become the first rookie this season to win seven decisions in a row.

    Wednesday, 9/18 7:05 PM

Alex Wood, LHP (3-3, 3.45 ERA) vs Ross Ohlendorf, RHP (4-0, 3.15 ERA)

Wood had his spot in the rotation skipped last Thursday after allowing 11 earned runs over seven innings in his last two starts, a stark departure from the league-best 0.90 ERA he posted in five starts in the month of August.

Because Stephen Strasburg is not available to start until Thursday at the earliest, Ohlendorf will again take his place in the rotation. Ohlendorf allowed just one run on five hits Friday against the Phillies.

Operation win the division..a.k.a win the series. They aren't even throwing their big guns out there....I mean seriously...take the division already.

This looks like September 2011. This time we can wrap the division up, instead of fighting for a wild card. We have to get better offensively and oppose our will on these bottom dwelling teams. We should be 5 games ahead of LA for best record. Gotta finish strong and hope for a hot start in the playoffs

If the Braves can't step up and take the division from the Nationals on their field, they don't deserve the title and won't win in the playoffs.

Lets put an end to Washington's hopes for the playoffs. We need this series in more ways than one. We need to start playing some ball

I know giving them compliments is not the norm in here but Classy move by the Nats to postpone the game.

Uggla not in the line-up again. I am all for benching people, but the problem is Elliot Johnson isn't the answer. he is hitting under .200 as well and only hitting .246 with Atlanta so it's not like he is killing the ball. I know Uggla is struggling, but his power could show up at any time and the more he sits the more rusty he is getting. I don't know really what to think b/c I'm not enjoying watching Uggla lately, but EJ isn't any better. Still don't know why they didn't call up La Stella.

Braves have their first hit of the game. Hopefully someone can pick up an RBI here.

And the pitching around Freeman continues. Gattis needs to make teams pay for this. Starting today

And just like that Gattis hits the first pitch for a double play. Absolutely no discipline. Freeman probably won't get many chances in this series to do damage.

No lead off walks, please. Driving the pitch count up in the very first ab. Not a good sign of things to come when you walk the lead off batter.
