Jason Hammel (7-8, 5.11 ERA) vs Todd Redmond (3-2, 4.40 ERA)
Redmond was his usual self on the mound vs. the D-backs in his last start, allowing three earned runs in five innings and striking out a pair. He's now allowed three earned runs or fewer in all but one of his 10 starts.
The right-hander is getting the nod over Bud Norris and will be making his first start since July 28. He has been on the disabled list for most of that time, making one appearance, Sept. 8, out of the bullpen.
Saturday September 14, 4:07
Chris Tillman (16-5, 3.66 ERA) vs Esmil Rogers (5-7, 4.46 ERA)
Rogers has shut out his opponent over his last two starts, and worked a career-high 7 2/3 innings his last time out vs. the Twins. The righty has recaptured some faith from manager John Gibbons after having been moved to the bullpen in August.
The ace of the staff, Tillman picked up his 16th win on Monday night, going seven innings and holding New York to two runs on four hits. He didn't issue a walk and tied a career high with nine strikeouts.
Sunday September 15, 1:07
Miguel Gonzalez (9-7, 4.00 ERA) vs Mark Buehrle (11-8, 4.18 ERA)
Buehrle had a rare off night against the Angels during his last time on the mound. The veteran left-hander had gone 6-0 with a 2.02 ERA in his previous nine starts, but was roughed up for eight earned runs and couldn't retire a batter in the fifth.
The righty was done in by a pair of solo homers in Tuesday's no-decision, going six innings and giving up three runs in the Orioles' loss. Gonzalez struck out six and didn't issue a walk.
