It's grown so much from when I was first here. There's a few that use to post more that now mostly just read but getting our own tab was a good start.

Mourinho said his favoured No 10 this season is Oscar and that Mata will have to change his game to become a regular starter.

"There are things I cannot speak with you about," Mourinho said. "But he played against Everton from the beginning and you can analyse his performance.

"And he played against Basel, not like (Demba) Ba or (John Obi) Mikel, coming in to rescue the game, but he came on when the team was winning 1-0 and when he had specific tasks to do.
Indirectly blaming Mata for the losses which has nothing to do with his play. Our best offensive game was easily at Everton. He's implying that Mata started a match we couldn't win and came in a match we were winning 1-0 with specific tasks when the outcome was us losing 2-1. Can he be clearer than that giving Mata some responsibility over both defeats?

"It's part of a process with him. One thing is to play with Ramires and Oscar in the side, them closing (down) each side, and Mata as a number 10 behind a striker, to have clever assists and to have clever passes; fantastic actions because he has great talent.

"Another thing to adapt to the way we want to play. In this moment, Oscar is my number 10 and, if somebody tells me that Oscar is not Chelsea's best player since the beginning of the season, I'd have to disagree."
We have scored 4 goals in 4 games because apparently the main attribute for his 10 is defense, not offense

Mourinho has been fielding Eden Hazard wide on the left, Oscar behind the striker and others playing on the right - Willian fulfilled the role against Basel.

Mourinho insists Oscar and Mata can play in the same team, but he wants the left-footed Spaniard to occupy a wide right role and track back in defence.

"I want to build with Oscar as my number 10," Mourinho added. "I want the other two players, from the side (wings), to adapt to that reality and to learn how to do things that they were not ready to do before."

"It's a problem I enjoy. I've never worked so hard as I'm doing now. Never. I had different situations at the other clubs, but here I work hard every day."

"I want results. I'm not trying to protect myself behind the style and the project, and say that I don't care about the results. I'm not trying to hide. But the reality is we want to play a certain style.

"We all agree. We had one meeting - not five or 10 or 20 - but one, and we were all convinced this was the way we want to do it. The project is beautiful. We had two very ugly results - we don't like, we are not used to them... it's a problem for us."
This is a joke. Oscar has literally never dictated the tempo of one single game for Chelsea while playing behind the striker. Never. He played a great game vs Juve last year because he scored twice and marked Pirlo out of the match. His best games have come when he's played deeper next to Ramires (usually). His final ball is awful compared to Mata's. If Oscar didn't score that goal vs Basel, I was expecting him to come off at either HT or soon after. He has not been good for Chelsea. I can't believe someone of his stature is so wrong about something so obvious. This along with the fact that BRANISLAV IVANOVIC is starting over Azpilicueta... I really think crooner might have been right about him hating Spanish players.

Especially against Basel, the game was there for the taking and Mata would've eaten that **** up. Cole was getting absolutely destroyed, Ivanovic was just putting up his ****** crosses as usual. Hazard played one of his worst games for the club. Willian looked good for someone who hadn't played with his teammates before. Lampard was....Lampard. Mourinho is trying to turn MVG into a holding MF and I still don't know why. Cahill got beat the same way he gets beat all the time. Yay for Cech, Luiz, and Eto'o!

Jamie Redknapp said this and I don't think he's far off at all
I'll be honest, sometimes you can see why a manager doesn't pick a player, but I can't see that with Mata. He creates goals, he scores goals. Mourinho may think he slows the game down after having the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo last year, or maybe he thinks: 'how do I get him into my team?' But Mata can play in one of the wide positions, he can play in the number 10 role - it just doesn't make any sense to me as he's so comfortable on the ball.

It feels like every player in the Chelsea team is on trial and I don't think anybody feels confident in what they're doing, because if you play a bad game then it's 'whoosh you're out' and that's not building anyone's confidence or building the team.
