Peralta gave up three runs on nine hits in six innings, walking one and striking out six to earn the win against the Pirates on Sept. 4. The right-hander is 0-2 with an 11.57 ERA (12 ER in 9 1/3 innings) in two career starts against the Cardinals.
Shelby Miller, RHP
12-9, 3.19 ERA
Miller allowed three earned runs on six hits and four walks in a no-decision versus the Reds his last time out. The rookie has been excellent in three career starts against the Brewers, posting a 2-0 record and a 1.47 ERA.

Estrada last started on Aug. 31 against the Angels, giving up four runs on nine hits, walking one and striking out eight in seven innings. The right-hander is 0-4 lifetime against the Cardinals with a 6.47 ERA in 11 appearances (six starts).
Lance Lynn, RHP
13-10, 4.37 ERA
Lynn is winless in his last six starts and hasn't held a team to fewer than four earned runs in his last five. Another poor outing Wednesday versus the Brewers could have Lynn's spot in the rotation on shaky ground.

Thornburg took the loss against the Pirates on Sept. 2, giving up two runs on six hits, walking three and striking out four in six innings. The right-hander has allowed two earned runs or fewer in all four starts he has made this season.
Joe Kelly, RHP
8-3, 2.74 ERA
Kelly continued his strong run on Friday, earning a fifth straight win with an eight-hit, one-run performance. He has allowed one or no runs in eight of his 11 starts since joining the rotation July 6.

Allen Craig, Sep 9, Craig (foot) was able to walk around the Cardinals clubhouse Sunday without his protective boot, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
(sprained foot) left the Sept. 4 game. X-rays showed a sprain, not a break. There is no timetable for his return.
(left shoulder strain) went on the 15-day disabled list May 26. Gast had season-ending surgery July 26, and he will need eight to 12 months of recovery time.
Rafael Furcal, Sep 9, Furcal (elbow) has thrown from 45 feet and expects to increase that distance in the coming weeks, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
(Tommy John surgery in March 2013) went on the 15-day disabled list March 20, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 3. He is out for the season.
(nerve problem in right shoulder) went on the 60-day disabled list Feb. 22. He started a rehab assignment at Double-A Springfield on July 15, then pitched for Triple-A Memphis on July 20. On July 23, he announced that he was shutting down his rehab due to numbness in his right hand. He told MLB.com on Aug. 5 he is not optimistic that he will pitch this year.
(muscle flexor strain in right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list March 22, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 14. He had season-ending Tommy John surgery May 7.
Aug 14 - From Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch comes word that top prospect Oscar Taveras will undergo season-ending surgery next week to help the healing of his high right ankle sprain — an injury that has been bothering Taveras since May 12.
The Cardinals fully expect Taveras to be ready for the beginning of spring training next February in Jupiter, Florida and he could be the starting center fielder in St. Louis on Opening Day 2014.
(left shoulder strain) went on the 15-day disabled list May 18 and was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 30. He was diagnosed with a torn labrum, and he underwent season-ending surgery May 24. He expects to begin throwing in late August.
