Cost for RP this trade deadline was absurd (brewers wanted WMB for k-rod)

could kind of explain why the sox went the thorton route rather then kill the farm for some RP.

This may be a bit overstated. The Brewers asked for Middlebrooks. That's how negotiations work -- you start high on the ask and then work down to an agreement. Case in point? K-Rod was actually traded for a 20yr old 3B/DH who's hitting .232/.346/.423 in A+. He was a sixth round pick (HS) in 2011 so there may be some potential there but with his OBP dropping it's a diamond-in-the-rough pick.

Still not really sold on WMB. His K/BB would be roughly the same of it weren't for him batting 8th in front of pitchers for about 5 games. I'm going to look at his LD rates in the last couple months but no matter what it's been a SSS and he's always shown that he can go on these streaks.

Read that he changed his stance and now has a toe tap and it's allowed him to make good adjustments.

We'll see if just another hot-streak or an actual breakthrough.

Word that what i was referring to. Whether his stance change has made a real difference. Last year Mariners saw the same type thing with Smoak.

We've been fortunate that streaky guys like WMB, Napoli, and Drew (this year) have managed to have their hot streaks dove tail. If all those bats go cold at the same time we're in some serious trouble.
