I think he would have really benefitted from being around Tyson, Martin and Stat during camp. These guys really know what it takes to be a big in this league and really could have helped him develop. Once the season starts there really isnt as much practice time with the team.
Thought Tyler would have brought some needed size and athleticism to the front court. He still can, but it will now take a lot longer. 8 - 10 weeks suggests early November before he can begin working-out and then how much longer before he is ready to play? But I never envisioned him as a C. He could potentially be outstanding at PF. He could occasionally backup at C, but only depending upon the situation. And Amare is not a C. So that still begs the question of who is the backup C?
Tyson got used by Hibbert during the playoffs. Yes, the rest of the team failed to help him, but he had nothing and had the temerity to whine about it. Man-up and stop blaming others. So who will be the backup C? Need size and athleticism - someone who can play defense and rebound. There is enough offense otherwise. Love Kenyon Martin's intensity and toughness, but sometimes he is just not big enough. So, again, who will be the backup C?
