    September Call-ups

Anybody have an idea on who is coming up? Who would you like to see called up? To bad this guy isn't on the 40 man roster (Ryan Buchter) I would like to see what he has.

Constanza, Loe, Garcia and Cunningham have already been called up. We will see Gattis being call up soon. I would like to see LaStella being called up, but I doubt it.

They need to send Loe down real quick and bring up somebody else. They need a reliable guy that can help our young starters without killing the bullpen.

CB brought up from AA. Now 4 catchers on the squad. Mine as well see what he's got.

MIAMI — September is a chance for the Braves to get a glimpse at some of their top prospects for the future and now is that chance for catcher Christian Bethancourt, who joined the Braves in Miami Monday and is expected to be the final Braves call-up.

With Brian McCann likely headed for free agency, Bethancourt is a candidate to join Evan Gattis as the Braves top two catchers next season. Bethancourt has spent this season in Double-A Mississippi, working on his consistency at the plate, and responded by hitting .277 (99-for-358) with 12 home runs and 45 RBIs.
Bethancourt earned his first major league call-up once the Mississippi Braves season ended with their loss Sunday in the Double-A Southern League playoffs.

Bethancourt, who turns 22 on Sept. 21 and a native of Panama, was selected to two consecutive Futures Games as one of the top young prospects in the minor leagues. He’s an athletic catcher with a dynamic arm but the Braves wanted him to continue to progress offensively. This was his second season in Double-A, after he hit .243 in 71 games of an injury-riddled 2012 season.

His OPS (.741) this year is the highest since his 2011 season at Rome .303/.323/.430 .753 OPS. His slash line this year .277/.305/.436. Finally, we have some improvement offensively with him. Largely due to that power improvement (12 HR's with 21 2B's).

Good news is that he doesn't strike out...but he also doesn't take ANY walks. His OBP is atrocious..if you want to compare him to anybody then Simba is your best bet (both AVG and power potential and defense). They say he's a stellar defensive catcher..intrigued to see myself..

Went 5-13 with 3 run scored, 3 K's and a BB in their play-off series loss to Mobile.

Well, if his as good as Simmons defensively and calling the game, i can live with a Simba like production.

    September Call-ups

Eh. I don't think CB can add enough defensive value at catcher like Simmons does at short. I'm still skeptical
