    53 man roster

We can talk about the moves the Saints have made:

"The New Orleans Saints trimmed their roster to 53 players on Saturday by waiving 17 players, terminating the contracts of four vested veterans and placing one player on injured reserve, the team announced in a news release on Saturday.

The most notable move was terminating the contract of longtime special teams ace and wide receiver Courtney Roby. Other veterans who had their contracts terminated: defensive end Jay Richardson; cornerback Chris Carr and safety Jim Leonhard. Center Eric Olsen was placed on Injured Reserve.

Rookie quarterback Ryan Griffin was among the 17 players waived, a list that also included wide receiver Preston Parker and fullback Austin Johnson. Other players waived:
Receiver Saalim Hakim, guard Elliott Mealer, tight end Keavon Milton, tight end Michael Higgins, guard Andrew Tiller, center Jeremiah Warren, inside linebacker Ray Shipman, outside linebacker Rufus Johnson, nose tackle Isaako Aaitui, safety Jerico Nelson, outside linebacker Baraka Atkins, tackle Marcel Jones, cornerback Korey Lindsey and cornerback Jumal Rolle."

I thought Parker had made it, and Roby was cut, too. Didn't see them both getting cut. WRs are: Colston, Moore, Stills, Toon and Tanner. Props to Tanner for finally making it.

They're keeping Cadet and Robinson. 5 RBs again. I guess Cadet will be a return man, too.

Hope Griffin makes it through waivers. I think he will.

Surprised that Brees didnt get cut after the way McKown looked this preseason

Couple surprises tho for me Josh Hill beat out Higgins for 3rd TE spot he must be good.

Sweeting and Reddick mustve looked good too.

And I thoughg Rufus Johnson would make team since we went to Tarelton to scout the guy.

Having Stills and Toon is like having Colston and Lance 2.0

Tanner should not have made this team! Bottom line, this was due to Drew speaking up for him and a "atta boy" favor to Tanner for induring those 35 cuts from the roster in the past!
    I don't mind him getting in the roster bcuz of a favor due to his past effort/discipline from all the roster cuts, but I'm not buying the media BS and the other crap that's being said about his talents! Tanner does not make the Saints better as a team in the NFL, others were better. {Real Talk}
Anyway, Tanner is a Who Dat now, so lets roll!
I officially now have a "Stephen" following me!

    From my Stephen-
"Ya damn near ran one of the most ride or die for the Saint fans on here. But that's ok, all that gon change!"
"I'm gon get with ya every time u try to disrespect other Saints fans!"
"I wish he opens his mouth!"
"It's a new day Saints Forum!"

I thought others were more versatile than Tanner. He'll have a chance on special teams to defend his place on the team and maybe he can contribute in the passing game a couple of times. When the Saints go five wide, it'll be him or Cadet as the 5th receiver.

    1. Damn I liked Parker! But tanner can ball

    2. Always wonder if the saints would have been much better of switching roby to DB earlier in his career.

    3. Three OLB'a WTF is that? Pick up please

    4. 5 WR's and RB's, I like. Injuries there have really hurts us in the past.

    5. Why Is Prob still even on this team? Haper needs to find a bench (any bench) and stay there.

What do you guys see the Saints doing about OLB? I assume Gallette and Wilson are healthy, but they only have 3 OLBs on the roster.
