The Cincinnati Reds second baseman launched into an expletive-laden tirade against a local beat writer for bringing up his low career on-base percentage on Twitter.
Phillips called out the Cincinnati Enquirer's C. Trent Rosecrans for "talking that negative s---" hours after the veteran reporter shared the unflattering stat online.
"Reds go from a hitter with a .320 OBP in the 2 hole to one with a .310 OBP," Rosecrans tweeted after learning that Reds manager Dusty Baker had moved Phillips - who has mostly hit clean-up this season - to the No. 2 spot prior to Wednesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The more I learn about Brandon Phillips, I'm convinced that he's a whinier, bigger baby than the Cardinals. It also seems odd to me that Dusty wouldn't even try to do anything about it. Where's the leadership?
Obviously we don't know what goes on behind closed doors and I'm sure players in every organization go off on reporters. It just makes Phillips seem hypocritical.
EDIT: I realize this story is a couple days old, but I've been buried in studying and hadn't found it before.
