I think he did
I hate Rex and the Jets but I don't think he would do something like that. His mouth can get him in trouble sometimes but he always has his player's backs (unless their name is Tim). There is a reason why guys wanted to play for him when the team was good.
Heck no... That theory would hurt the team as whole since Mark would still be a decent backup in the league if anything ever happened to Geno. And if that was the case the plan has succeeded so they woulda just named Geno the starter already.
Now u must beware of the bullies John Doe and Mr Magoo are coming for u lol
Rex loves Mark like a son. He'd never do that.
Then why put Mark out there? It makes no sense unless you are hoping for a certain outcome...you don't put a starting QB out there in the 4th quarter with a backup O-Line without a motive and the motive wasn't to see Mark compete
I'm sorry this thread is dumb.
**** happens get over it.

Maybe Rex gave Mark the option to get "hurt". It was a plan to prevent Sanchez from playing against Revis.
If Mark wanted Geno to play in the opener, so that Geno looked bad and people wanted Sanchez back, Sanchez would take a dive...
No, Rex didn't want to get Sanchez hurt.
But I will say it made his decision much easier.
I gotta be me
I think he likely put him in there thinking "There's no way Geno is ready, so let's get Mark some easy completions against their scrubs and raise his confidence a bit" and it backfired on him when one of those scrubs destroyed Sanchez.
