This is a recent discussion I brought up on Twitter and I was wondering what you guys think.
If we have the #1 pick in next years' draft, would you rather...
A. Draft Jadeveon Clowney with the #1 pick and draft a QB in the 2nd Round
B. Draft Teddy Bridewater (Or any other Projected 1st Round QB) with the #1 Pick
C. Draft Jadeveon Clowney with the #1 pick and let QB Tyler Wilson develop and roll the dice
In my opinion, I feel like C would be the best option. A guy named "@NFLGuy_SK" on Twitter said "Clowney is a once in a decade defensive prospect, if ANY GM passes on him, they should be fired on the spot." and I have to agree with that. The guy has 0% bust potential unlike QBs who can be busts despite draft status. (Right Mr. Russell?) I say we go with the safest, defensive game changer and DON'T draft a QB in the second round. We have too many holes to draft more QBs when we have a 6'3" tough, high upside gunslinger in Tyler Wilson. He has the mold of a franchise QB. We should give him this year to get properly acclimated to the NFL pace. I believe he should start when Veldheer returns so that Veldheer, Wisniewski, and Watson can give him adequate time in the pocket. Wilson may be behind in a mental standpoint but he is still the far superior passer to any QB that we possess.
What do you guys think? A? B? Or C?
