Before people say they don't want to spend all that money, getting rid of Granderson will free up 15 million. Cano is already getting paid 15 million so it won't be that much more to sign him (as long as he's not signed into his 40's which I doubt will happen).
Hughes will be gone and lets not forget the Arod suspension (assuming it happens) will free up a lot for the year.
I saw this on reddit and I'd like to share it here- https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...6X2J5dkE#gid=0
It's a good description of the off season
I think the yankees will be interested but he's not getting 100 million
They will spend $$$$ on Granderson before they spend $$$$ on Ellsbury..
I'd rather have Ells than Grandy
EVERYBODY RELAX, I'M BACK!
Doesn't make a lot of sense because Gardner doesn't have nearly the same value in LF. Conversely neither does Ellsbury.
The Yankees have their version of Ellsbury in Gardner who happens to stay healthier btw. Ellsbury is the better player but Gardner has a 14.8 rWAR the last 4 years including one season of losing significant time to injury whereas Ellsbury has a rWAR of 14.2 the last 4 years with 1 and a half season lost to injury.
They are better off with Granderson as he is a different dimension than Ellsbury or Gardner.

30 Team Stadium Checklist: 10 to go
1) Yankees 2) Orioles 3) Rays 4) Red Sox 5) Mets 6) Braves 7) Phillies 8) Nationals 9) Marlins 10) Pirates 11) Padres 12) Astros 13) Mariners 14) Twins 15) Cubs 16) White Sox 17) Cardinals 18) Indians 19) Tigers 20) Royals
Ellbury is a bum. Signing players who rely on their speed to multi year contracts is a recipe for disaster. Do they ever learn? The guy is turning 30 next year and we already have gardner who is the same player but comes at a fraction of the price.
Ellsbury at 5/75 is a great signing. If he's getting more than that, he's not such a bargain.
BA: .282 HR: ONE! RBI: 20 SB: 12 AGE: 40
For those comparing Ellsbury and Gardner, the only similarity is the speed. Ellsbury had an MVP caliber season not too long ago. He can hit for power, unlike Gardner. Gardner is older too. I'd much rather have Ells than Gardy, but I don't think it will happen.
The Yanks are not spending money on anymore OFers for 2014
They are already set!
Wells is the backup with a few other minor leaguers...
2014 is another transitional year....2015 is the year we will see a new team!
Less than 1 hour and we are already in the 5th! Thank you Soriano! So what is up with Corey Black? Anybody miss him?
What a goddamn joke! CC is a bum this year!
