I'm assuming Bogaerts gets the start vs the lefty today, correct?

    No Bogaerts today.

This will be one tough stretch of games.

Farrell made is clear several times that Bogaerts was called up as a bench player, not to replace Drew. They're not changing SS now.

Farrell's a damn idiot sometimes. What's wrong with starting Bogaerts today then starting Drew the next 2 days against Norris and Tillman? If it was my decision:

Tue vs BAL (Chen) - WMB at 3B, Xander at SS; Drew bench
Wed vs BAL (Norris) - Xander at 3B, Drew at SS; WMB bench
Thu vs BAL (Tillman) - WMB at 3B, Drew at SS; Xander bench
Fri vs CHW (Santiago) - WMB at 3B, Xander at SS; Drew bench
Sat vs CHW (Danks) - WMB at 3B, Xander at SS; Drew bench
Sun vs CHW (Rienzo) - WMB at 3B, Drew at SS; Xander bench
Mon vs DET (Fister) - Xander at 3B, Drew at SS; WMB bench

That's probably along the lines of what I'd like Farrell to do.

I'm pretty sure Farrell doesn't look at statistics at all... most of his decisions are ill informed unless they are painfully obvious.

It's ****ing stupid, but clearly he's "being loyal" to Drew and doesn't want to give him 3 days off in a row.

Not the correct time to be loyal, we need to beat the O's and this is clearly not a matchup where I want Drew starting over Bogaerts, especially when you consider that Drew could play the next 2 games in a row vs RHP.

Of course, but that's what he clearly is doing. I understand the reverse splits or good history with Ryu and Zito. Chen owns lefties, the only explanation is blind loyalty to your veterans. We will probably get an 0-4 for that. He should sit WMB one of the next 2 games.

Farrell on SS decision: "I'm not going to turn away from Stephen Drew" just based on an opposing pitcher's splits.

See stupid loyalty. Like sitting him vs a lefty is going to harm Drew, he should be happy since it would help his numbers for FA.

What's the big deal? Drew has been mashing everything lately. Lefty's, righty's, starters, relievers.

Bogaerts ain't going anywhere, don't get your tubes tied in a knot.

Maybe he doesn't like having rookies playing that much in a playoff race? All I can really think of.
