Question Does anyone here fear the Yankees?

Just wondering if any of you guys fear the Yankees in times like these? They were not too good in the last few months of the regular season, but won their last 5 out of 6 games. The post season is almost coming and its times like these teams like the NYY play well. And its not like their 20+ games out of first place in the AL East its 7 which is not that many. Thoughts.
20+ years from now I and others will look back @WMXXX and say remember when Brock Beat The Undertaker? More people will remember his only loss more than those 21 Straight wins.

They're not a playoff team. No team with a negative run differential should be feared. I look at them as games we should/need to win to beat out the Rays down the stretch. They also haven't won their last 5/6 anymore. They have lost their last two vs the Rays, and are losing again today vs the Rays. All worry should be directed towards the Rays who won't go away.

A good deal of their success was spurred by the return of Soriano who gave them the needed RHB bat to the tune of .329/.361/.658 in his first 20 games. He's .074/.167/.352 since.

They are not the Yankees you are used to seeing. They are extremely mediocre. The only reason you are worried is because of their name.

If you want to worry about something worry about the Rays taking the division, the Orioles beating us down in the 9 games we have left with them, the A's and Indians sneaking by us with their very easy September schedules.

They've certainly come on strong as of late and no Yankees team should ever be counted out. That said I think they're to far behind to make the playoffs.
    Favourite Teams:

Boston Red Sox: Disappointing regular season, hoping for good things in 2015.
Indianapolis Colts: 5-2, Week 8 vs. Steelers
Dallas Mavericks: New team, hoping for good things this season.
Ottawa Senators: 4-1-0, games this week vs. Toronto, New Jersey, Chicago

They're due for a cold streak too. And if they hit any snag at this point they're screwed.

True. CLE has a tough run coming up (ATL, DET, BAL) and an outside shot at facing Harvey. It's pretty smooth sailing after that. OAK is slightly tougher; they've got a similar set coming up (just finished BAL, DET, TBR, and TEX with one more set vs TEX later). I just feel like these guys are going to fade, though.

If the Yanks keep convincing themselves to hunt the second WC then they could be a real nuisance to BAL. They face one another 7 more times. BAL probably has the toughest schedule of remaining games (NYY 7, BOS 9 with 6 at Fenway, CLE 3, TBR 4; 19/33 away with 1 day off). I hope the schedule wears them down by the time we see them in mid-Sep.

Sox schedule may be next toughest with weak spots against CWS, TOR, and COL. Fortunately they play 18/32 at home. The weird trip to COL during the last week may suck but at least it gives 2 off-days heading into what could be a big final weekend in BAL.
