Detroit Tigers (74-53)-New York Mets (58-67)
FISTER: Fister allowed three runs on 10 hits while walking two and striking out six on Saturday against the Royals. He's 3-1 with a 2.45 ERA since the All-Star break, though he hasn't earned a win since Aug. 2.MATSUZAKA: Matsuzaka, 32, pitched in Cleveland's organization this season, making 19 starts in Triple-A. He compiled a 5-8 record and a 3.92 ERA (45 earned runs/103.1 innings), striking out 95 and walking 39.
SCHERZER: Scherzer became the fifth pitcher since 1912 to begin a season with an 18-1 record and the first to do so since Roger Clemens in 2001. He will return to Citi Field for the first time since starting the All-Star Game.HARVEY: Though there was initially talk of sliding Harvey up in the rotation to pitch on regular rest, he will instead have an extra day when he starts against the Tigers. With five days' rest this year, Harvey holds a 2.11 ERA.
PORCELLO: Porcello suffered his first loss since June after allowing five runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings against the Twins on Tuesday. While he felt his pitches were working well, it was untimely walks that hurt him._________________________________________________GEE: Gee said after his last start that he is "throwing the ball probably the best I've really ever thrown it," and the stats back that up. Since July 14, Gee is 3-1 with a 1.47 ERA. Since May 30, he is 7-2 with a 2.27 ERA.
