Heyward has a fractured jaw, out 4-6 weeks

    ajcbraves
Heyward's jaw was fractured in 2 places. Expected to miss 4-6 weeks

    In 64 games since June 2, #Braves Heyward hit .301 with 27 extra-base hits (11 HR), 43 runs, 29 RBIs, plus-.500 slugging%
    Well that sucks...

I guess Schafer will have to be everyday LF and leadoff.

Considering we've basically already won our division, this doesn't hurt as much. But the sooner he gets back and ready for playoff ABs the better.

It looks like our first playoff game would likely be on October 2, that is 6 weeks away. Hopefully we can get him back, get well soon Jason!

i'd be more concerned with his mental health. im sure getting hit in the face with a fast ball will have some type of impact on him... ****ing mets

Theoretically, he could be back by the end of September. To bad minor league session is over bythen so no rehab assignment. Hopefully we can get him back and healthy for the playoffs

I remember Schafer bunted a ball and it hit his face. He came back pretty ok. Heyward is a competitor, im sure he will get back mentally.

I would imagine Gattis gets most of Heyward's ABs with Schafer continuing to cut into BJ's playing time. Hope BJ can get going during these next few weeks.

Exactly, he will need some live ABs before the playoffs start.

Lol..unless its just out if the blue, thats a lot of hope. Besides those little 5 games when he came back from the DL, he hasn't shown anything this whole season. Little flashes here and there, but other than that, he is pretty much worst of the worst
