Jose Iglesias is the best SS that the Detroit Tigers have ever had

No disrespect to Alan Trammell but Jose Iglesias is the best that the Detroit Tigers have ever had at SS...at least over the last 39 years...

Quite honestly, it really isn't even that close.

I loved the pick up when we got him and after watching him play I love having him even more. The defense has been such a big boost. As much as I love JP, it's not even close Iglesias is the better fit. Even as weak as a bat as Iglesias has, the speed of his helps get us infield singles.

Just picked up MLB 13 and was wondering what Iglesias overall should be? As far as speed/hitting/fielding goes?

lmao I seriously burst out in laughter when I saw thread title and OP

    needed that laugh

Seriously though, why were analysts and Boston fans saying Iglesias was slow? Or maybe not slow, but average. He looks like a speed demon out there

Do yourself a favor and download OSFM rosters in the vault. Only complaint about Iglesias is I think they short changed him on speed. If I remember they only gave him like 57. Fielding should be at least 90 imo

He looks fast to us because we are used to watching victor, prince, and miggy run.

Nicet roll thread T$$$. lol. This is almost as bad as the war nut huggers from mlb main. And for the record, Jose isn't even top 5 in the past 39 years and isn't top 10 all time. My gut says in 2-3 years time everyone will be calling for a new SS beacuse Jose will barely hit his weight.

I really don't think any of us can say we've seen enough of Iggy to say things like he is the GOAT Tiger's shortsop. I hope he turns out that way. We all know his defense is amazing. If he can just hit like .270 I'll be happy.

Lizzy, you are right. I am on cloud 9 with this kid, yes. I was at Sunday's game and he made a play going towards 3B in the second inning to get a speedy Bonafacio at 1B for the third out of the inning and everyone in the park was stunned. He makes it look sooo easy and sooo smooth. I am possibly a little irrational as well about Iggy but, here is an article that somewhat tells my story.

I wouldn't say he is the best ss we have had, but with the way this team is set up with miggy and prince in the infield I believe Iglesias is so much better than peralta.
