A's: Griffin walked a career-high six, including one intentional, in 5 2/3 innings in his last outing. He's 2-2 with a 4.70 ERA and .218 opponents batting average in five starts since the All-Star break, allowing 10 home runs in 30 2/3 innings.

A's: Straily had not completed five innings in any of his previous three starts before going a career-high 7 1/3 innings against the Blue Jays in his last outing. The right-hander gave up one run on just six hits with three walks and five strikeouts.

A's: Colon gave up five runs in four innings against Houston and has allowed 10 earned runs in his last 6 2/3 innings after allowing nine earned runs in his previous 49 1/3. He had gone his previous 15 starts without allowing more than three earned runs.

Disappointing loss, we let their pitchers off the hook too many times considering we drew 6 walks.

Looking good so far today. We f'd Kazmir up pretty good while Milone was solid. He didn't last long though because his pitch count got up there.

Otero has quietly been very impressive in the bullpen this year. He's a groundball machine like Ziegler.
