This is ********, Amaro is to blame for this crappy team, not Cholly.

Regardless, Charlie was not the greatest in game manager. He was too loyal to his players. At least with a new Manager we could see a Howard platoon or a Howard drop in the order. Manuel wasn't doing that as the manager.

    That's not a guarantee.

Sad to see him go. He was going to be out anyway, doesn't make it less sad. He was the manager of the only Philadelphia championship I've been alive for. I'll always remember him for that.

Why couldn't he finish out the year and ride off into the sunset? He helped win us a WS! We had nothing to play for and it wasn't like Sandberg was going anywhere before then. Charlie wasn't perfect, but he was far from the biggest problem. How is he supposed to manage a club with aging veterans who are always injured, no bullpen or bench, a shallow farm system, and huge expectations (brought on by past success and a large payroll) with a poorly constructed lineup?

Classless move by a GM who is try to get the finger pointed away from himself.

Don't post on PSD much at all, but had to chime in this time. Charlie deserved better to be canned in the middle of the year. Another move by Amaro looking after his own skin.
I'll ALWAYS remember Charlie for the great years he gave us.

Eh. From what I've read, Sandberg is essentially the same kind of manager

I completely agree with u guys, RAJ is washing his hands with Cholly soap.

This team is awful and it's all on Amaro.

Should have been sooner than now. Charlie lost this team a long time ago. Still he brought us a world series and to that a huge thank you. Now RAJ needs to go, followed by Howard and Rollins.

Is it true he was going to be honored at tonight's game for his 1,000th career win as a manager? Wow, way to go Amaro. I can't wait to see him fired.
