    Astros @ A's (8/13 - 8/15)

    @

    Game 1
    Tuesday, Aug 13

    _________
    Jordan Lyles__________Bartolo Colon

Other guys: The righty's lines have been too crooked lately, with Lyles' 24 earned runs allowed over his last four starts dragging down the ERA of what has otherwise been a solid Astros staff of late.
A's: Colon endured his shortest outing of the season on Wednesday, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings against the Reds. He had pitched at least six innings in each of his previous 15 starts.

    Game 2
    Wednesday, Aug 14

    _________
    Jarred Cosart__________Jarrod Parker

Other guys: The touted rookie has been as advertised through five starts. He was at his "worst" his last time out, getting a no-decision after allowing two runs over five innings against Boston.
A's: Parker won on Friday after allowing three runs on six hits and one walk with six strikeouts in six innings against the Blue Jays. He has delivered quality starts in five of his past six outings and in 14 of his past 16.

    Game 3
    Thursday, Aug 15

    _________
    Erik Bedard__________Sonny Gray

Other guys: Bedard continues to impress despite getting little run support. He's had quality starts in three of his last four outings, but Houston has lost the last seven games the veteran lefty has pitched.
A's: Gray may have lost his big league starting debut against the Blue Jays on Saturday, but he pitched well, allowing two earned runs (four total) on four hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings.

Pretty close, may have barely grazed the pole, but we'd probably need more angles to determine for sure. Umps call it foul and it'd be hard to argue.

And CY ends up striking out to end the game.

Well... tonights game was definitely a roller coaster of emotions. I was right there by the foul pole from where we all thought CY won it! Looked like a HR... the bullpen kept asking all of us and we all agreed it was gone. But I guess not.... ugh!

Oh yeah, and Colon was pitiful!
    49ers, Athletics, Warriors = Life!

    49ers = 12-4
Warriors = 51-31 Making it rain!

That one sucked....watching the ball graze the foul pole sucked worse. Why couldn't have been one inch over so there would of been no doubt?

Oh boy, I am concerned about Colon right now. He's a 1 pitch pitcher and his fast ball has been flat. He looks like he needs to skip a start and rest the arm, but susl said there's no plans of doing that?

    ahhh... the good ole days
