You don't risk somebody who isnt 100% fit in a game that doesn't mean anything.
My honest opinion, which I know not many people agree with, is that Greg McElroy is probably the QB that gives us the best chance to win from Week One. He would be a backup on most teams, but he has a bit of fire, and with more reps in practice and more experience I think can be a decent "game manager" type of player.
Mark has all the physical skills to be a very good QB, and none of the mental strength. At this point, what does anyone think is going to change from the last two seasons? I can only see the spiral getting worse. The crowd will get on his back, he knows half his team mates don't really want him, his confidence will sink further, and more horrible mistakes and more sitting on the sidelines starting sadly at the floor as everyone ignores him...
I might be wrong on Geno, but already just too many character issues and too many red flags.
I think we should probably start with Geno because he has more potential and I think *could* be the best player even if he isn't right now, and Greg needs to be ready to step in if it goes wrong or he gets hurt. Let Mark see out this year if his contract is structured that way, and maybe he can rebuild himself somewhere else as a backup. In a smaller market team and a fresh start, maybe he could get his head straight and play well. I just dont see that that is possible in New York anymore.
