The Arod Decision : How it affects the Yanks and others?

In my opinion, this news of the suspension and appeal is a HUGE WIN for the Yankees.

    Why?

1- He gets to play in 2013 and we actually need him. Win.
2- He gets suspended all of next year and is off the $189m cap. Win.
3- The Yanks get to resign Cano rather easily now. Win.
4- After sitting out a year or possibly more, there is a great chance he retires at age 40 rather than try to come back. Win.

Also a huge win for fans for the reasons above plus the fact that we now have money to spend and still stay under the cap.

Where I think this could be a negative is for other players. We know these weren't the only guys at Biogenesis or doing stuff w Arod. During a lengthy appeal or legal fight, I wonder if other names will surface, thereby implicating more players.

    Thoughts?

You are probably right......I'm just thinking if he gets worn out by the legal battle and just says fk it.

But I'd bet anything he wins a legal case, meaning that he will get less than the 211 when all is said and done......assuming he fights it.

I'm sure he has dirt on Yanks brass and MLB in some fashion.

Yeah it is highly doubtful he will retire before his contract is up, especially since he won't be getting paid for all of next year.

Him retiring is a pipe dream but the first three points are definitely a good way of looking at it.

    I endorse this thread.

I hope every time he comes to bat home and away, all fans stand and turn facing away from A-Bag = He robbed the Texas Rangers & New York Yankees for couple hundred million = did it without a GUN - Just a needle . . .
