    A's vs. Rangers (8/2-8/4)

    Game #1
Lets just pretend that didn't happen...

    Game #2
Saturday, August 3, 1:05 PM PDT, O.co Coliseum

    Jarrod Parker

Parker issued a career-high seven walks to the Angels in his last outing and allowed four runs in the opening frame to bump his ERA to 7.29 in the first inning this season. The right-hander finished with six runs allowed in five-plus innings.
    vs.
    Matt Garza

Garza has pitched a quality start in both of his outings for the Rangers this season, posting a 1.88 ERA in 14 1/3 innings. The right-hander allowed three runs in seven innings in a no-decision Monday against the Angels.

    Game #3

Sunday, August 4, 1:05 PM PDT, O.co Coliseum

    AJ Griffin

Griffin allowed just four hits to the Blue Jays spanning seven innings on Monday, but three were home runs, equating to four runs. His 26 home runs allowed are most in the Majors, though 19 have been solo shots.
    vs.
    Derek Holland

Holland is 3-3 with a 3.29 ERA in his past nine starts after allowing four runs in six innings against the Angels on Tuesday. He is 4-2 with a 2.97 ERA in nine starts and four relief appearances against Oakland in his career.

So no series thread was made.... but better late than never!

Lets forget game 1 ever happened and try and take the series that we desperately need to win here.

Solid win today... Parker pitched really well. Some good hitting throughout the lineup. Also, found it hilarious when Garza was pissed at Sogard over the Suicide squeeze. What a tool.

Now lets hope Griffin pitches well tomorrow and we can go for the series win.

That was a good bounce back start from Parker, he looked like **** last outing. Can't say enough about Doolittle, Cook, and Balfour. That pen has carried the pitching staff.

People were saying we don't need pitching help because we have one of the best team ERA's, but that's because of the pen. Out of all our relievers who've pitched over 20 innings, only Chavez has an ERA north of 4.00. The starting staff is almost the opposite. Only Colon and Griffin (just barely) are below 4.00, and Griffin has been getting pretty lucky. I really think we could have used a guy like Garza or Peavy. This staff might get us to the playoffs, but I don't know how it'll work out in a playoff series.

I agree. I don't trust Straily or Milone in the playoffs. As of now, it'd most likely be Bartolo/Parker/Anderson/Griffin depending on if Anderson is healthy or not. That's nice across the board, but it won't blow people away. I'd love to see Sonny Gray get some starts though. Guy is electric

Not saying Straily can't figure it out. I'm just getting discouraged with him falling behind and laying down cookies for opposing teams to mash

I'm more concerned about Griffin than Straily.
