Big Man depth - Only 2 players able to play at 5. Any Big Man Target?

Now we only have 2 players who are capable to play at the 5: Drummond and Monroe

If one of them is in foul trouble or injured, the other has to play REALLY heavy minutes.

I looked at the FA list, not many are interesting. Cole Aldrich can be a backup C, not many options to be honest

I m thinking about Greg Oden now, we can stash a little. with him being our primary backup C

Greg Oden would be the ideal fit. I just don't know if he would want to come here or not. Especially if the Spurs and Heat are hot after him.

I thought Aldrich was with the Kings? Maybe my memory is off. Oden would be awesome but something tells me he wouldn't be interested in coming here, especially if Miami is showing strong interest. I mentioned him in a thread awhile back but what about Przybilla? Experienced guy that we don't need to really contribute much other than eating minutes and not screwing up.

Chris Wilcox is another name if we need some spot duty.

That's not a bad idea actually. He played pretty solid for us his last season here and looked good at times with Boston as well. Also a vet this time around.

Jerebko and Stuckey for Nene? Not a great contract but he can still play and would be a force off the bench. Okafor has a more friendly deal that ends next summer but he would cost us more in players probably. Just a thought

before we filled up the roster spots there were rumors to zaid abbas a center from overseas becoming a piston.
maybe that was already in plan.

also, is henry sims on a roster?
former dleague mvp may be a good pickup.
videos show him as an agile big man. blatche-like

Forgot about him. That seems like that could happen considering one of our assistant coaches have coached him before.

I think Drummond will be the primary backup C, with Monroe/Smith/Datome starting.

You're nuts if you don't think Drummond is the immediate every day starter playing starter minutes from Day 1.

There ain't no more easing the guys into things. Joe D and Cheeks are on the hot seat to put up or shut up right now. Holding back Mr. Untouchable on the bench in place of starting some Italian guy who's never played in the NBA sounds like absolute insanity.

    Scrap Detroit!!

What happen if Monroe or Drummond is injured? Or tired? Or in foul trouble? If Drummond is injured, u expect Monroe to play 48min at C?

    No backup C? Charlie Villanueva?

Usually every team has a 4/5, who can play some min at C if needed. But all our PFs are 3/4 hybrids, think CV, Jerebko n Mitchell

Last season we had Maxiell as a 3rd string C, and Slava as 4th C; this season we only have Drummond and Monroe who are capable to play C.

2 players for one position is risky. The rotation, should have 3 players capable to play at one position.

Think of our PG situation, Jennings/Billups/Will Bynum/Siva

    SG, Stuckey/KCP/Singler/Billups

    SF, Josh Smith/Singler/Datome/Mitchell

    PF, Monroe/Josh Smith/CV/JJ/Mitchell

    C, Drummond/Monroe.....??

Inbalance here. We still have 2 spots in the roster, why take risk? Take someone like Aaron Gray, Cole Aldrich or Haddiddi will be ok as long as contract terms are good enough
