Jeffrey Loria- worst owner ever Part 2. with an assist to Tino Martinez

    He should resign if true

Marlins hitting coach Tino Martinez was poised to resign after a player notified the team Martinez erupted in anger unjustly and grabbed him by his neck and neck chain, according to multiple sources.

But sources said team owner Jeffrey Loria, who made the decision to hire Martinez, nixed the idea, at least for now.

According to two sources, the agent for rookie second baseman Derek Dietrich, who was demoted last week to the minors, contacted team officials about the alleged incident, which occurred several months ago.

Dietrich’s agent, David Meter, would neither confirm nor deny that the incident took place.

Loria isn't really that bad of an owner, he's just a douche. The media loves to demonize him though because nobody watches Marlins games.

Loria is actually pretty brilliant. He used to make $50 mil a year off those terrible Marlins teams

I understand some of the criticism with Loria given they just built him a 2 billion dollar stadium (mostly on the backs of taxpayers) but the truth is he can't help that Floridians don't care for Florida baseball (last in attendance this year).

That's not his fault. That's MLB's fault for insisting on keeping the team there with bad attendance and bad tv ratings.

Arguably, the worst owner in MLB, given his current financial circumstances and where the team should be financially is Fred Wilpon.

The truth is the Marlins weren't profitable last year with 120 million dollar payroll and that's why Loria had to abandon that idea when they weren't winning. The Mets on the other hand should be.

If people think Loria is the worst owner in sports history, look up Harold Ballard. Makes Loria look like an angel. I'm sure people could name off plenty of other owners too.

Loria is a business Genius... He just got done over paying for free agents and shipping them out for a ****ing haul before those contracts ever actually hurt the organization.

What was meant for me will be Mine once again... THE CHAMP OF CHAMPS IS BACK

Yep the best thing he could have did with that team from last year was sell off all its stars. They weren't winning anything with Reyes, Buerhle, Johnson, Ramirez, Sanchez, etc so might as well deal them and get back good young value to build around.

The Marlins are just not a profitable enough franchise to justify a larger payroll.

This is super out of nowhere, and probably should be explained.

Lew Wolff has no real power, the man who currently owens the team is the CEO of the gap. And McCourt is the worst.

    You mean "was".

It's really no contest imo. Fred Wilpon is the worst owner in MLB in relativity to the market of the team he owns.

The New York Mets should be able to sustain a 150 million payroll without batting an eyelash and next year it will be near 50 million dollars to start the offseason.

This is true, but the Wilpons are broke because of Maddof, the McCorts turned down a lopsided trade for CC Sabathia and Casey Blake because they didn't feel like paying him in the offseason, that move could have cost the team a world series.
