Lance Berkman admitted Wednesday that he's considered shutting it down for the rest of the season or retiring due to nagging soreness in his surgically-repaired right knee.
Berkman is on the disabled list with a hip injury, but it appears that soreness in his right knee, which he's had surgery on four times, is the bigger issue. He began doing some running Wednesday, but obviously he's not close to returning. "I’ve definitely thought about it," Berkman said of shutting down for the remainder of the season. "But I haven’t reached any final decisions on it. Hopefully I’ll do the best that I can and help the team. It could also depend on what the team’s needs are. This is an uncertain time of the year for everybody."
