I think that's the money for Ricardo Cespedes.

Yeah, they probably needed to get some more money to be able to sign Cespedes who was reportedly asking for 800K.

Concepcion, a 23-year-old outfielder, is a .277./.337/.390 hitter over parts of seven minor league seasons, but has not progressed past Class A to this point. He's played six games so far in 2013 in the short-season New York-Pennsylvania League after playing 17 games there in 2012, though he has just a combined .218/.256/.295 batting line at that level in those 23 games.

The 22-year-old Perez is a right-hander that is currently pitching in the Rookie Level Appalachian League. He's pitched to a 5.52 ERA with 6.8 K/9 and 3.1 BB/9 in 14 2/3 innings this season and has a career ERA of 3.68. Neither prospect was among the Top 30 Mets prospects prior to the season, according to Baseball America. It's unclear at this time how much the slot the Mets received is worth.

The Mets have added to their international bonus pool by acquiring an international slot value from the Angels in exchange for outfielder Julio Concepcion and righthander Andres Perez.

The Mets will receive the Angels’ No. 2 slot value (the No. 51 overall slot), which carries a value of $360,500. The Mets now have an international bonus pool of $3,025,100, while the Angels’ pool drops to $1,633,200.

Concepcion, 23, has played in six games this season for short-season Brooklyn, while the 22-year-old Perez has a 5.52 ERA in seven appearances (six in relief) in the Rookie-level Appalachian League. Neither player ranked among the Mets’ top 30 prospects entering the season and both players are more organizational players rather than true prospects.
I'm surprised those two guys were worth that much.

Is probably more of a case that the Angels were not going to use that money to sign anybody and sold it for 2 minor league players. A case of better getting something than getting nothing I guess.
