    Injury Report - Training Camp

Ugh, I was hoping that we wouldn't have much discussion as we would stay healthy. So much for that pipe dream. I will update this first post as I hear things:

    July 22nd
Bell (OT) - PUP list to start TC (and he just got here)
Bernadeau (OG) - Hamstring; PUP list to start TC
Brent (DT) - retired (yeah, not an injury but it hurts the team)
Cook (OC) - PUP list to start TC
Crawford (DL) - Achilles; OUT FOR SEASON
Ladouceur (LS) - PUP list to start TC
Leary (OG) - PUP list to start TC
Livings (OG) - PUP list to start TC
Ratliff (DT) - Hamstring; PUP list to start TC
Tuinei (WR) - PUP list to start TC

    NEW 7/22:
    * Spencer getting MRI on ailing knee
    * Hanna sore (not really participating in practice) - hammy strain

    Agreed!!

I know it's football, and injuries happen, but this is bordering on ridiculous.

Aside from Ratliff and berny with their hammys (a notorious injury problem for this whole team) there's no word on the injuries to any of the other 5 linemen which makes me think that they are all out of playing shape. Berny and livings are the projected starters with Leary a potential threat to replace one of them. All the other players are back-ups so it's not a big concern.

Spencer to get MRI on knee...tweaked during conditioning

    (from twitter) Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez 20s
Anthony Spencer says it's a bone bruise that's hurting him. Same thing from offseason. Says he aggravated iron conditioning test.
Asked if he's concerned about the injury, especially if it happened just from running, Spence says yeah, it's a concern.

This injury to Spencer is much more than a bone bruise. Mike Fischer of 105.3 The Fan said this morning that he talked to some medical experts last night. They told him that bone bruises don't need surgery. There's probably a fracture somewhere in the knee. If that's the case, the usual advice for this is for Spencer to do absolutely nothing for 6 weeks.

The Cowboys need to monitor this situation VERY closely. If they don't, Spencer could break his leg just like Kevin Ware of the U of Louisville college basketball team did on national TV during the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

Check out Mike Fisher's tweet on this @FishSports. Scroll down to the tweet titled "The REAL Issue: Cowboys' Spencer 'Bone Bruise' Could Lead To Serious Injury."

Ragman I dont like the sound of this A.Spencer injury, hopefully the rest over next couple weeks will do justice to heal the injury.

First Tyrone now Spencer, I know Jerrah dont want to pay John Abraham but at this rate he might have to.

I don't either, R2W82. If he needs to have surgery, he needs to spend 6 weeks doing absolutely nothing. Two weeks won't help.

I heard Stephen Jones yesterday on a local sports talk show. The original plan after they lost Crawford, according to him, was that the Cowboys were going to promote from within. However, after the news about Spencer, they'd better hope they can get Abraham or Seymour.

As of today, the Cowboys, according to Fisher, are $10.3 million under the cap. Remember, they haven't got a deal made with Lee yet.
