Reid Boucher. He was drafted by the Devils a couple years ago, and is coming off a great season for the Sarnia Sting. I got to watch quite a bit of this kid, actually. He stole Stamkos' record in Sarnia for most goals in a season with 62 (in 68 games). He's got a wicked shot. He knows how to get open, and loves the slot. His wrist shot is his bread and butter.

As for his potential, I have no idea. I'm not sure how his game transfers to the NHL, but 5 points in 10 AHL games this season is a positive thing.

At the same time, he was second on the team in points. Galchenyuk would have out-scored him as well. He's older. Brett MacLean was killing the OHL when he was a few years older, and turned out to be nothing in the NHL. I think Boucher makes the NHL, but he has a long way to go before he's a solid goal scorer in the NHL. He may never score 30 in the NHL.

He needs to get better at everything almost. He has an outstanding shot, but that's all unfortunately. He needs to improve in all other aspects to make it imo.

Yup. His skating obviously needs some work, but if he can fix up some things with a year or two in the AHL, he could hit 30. His shot is absolutely fantastic. There's a reason why he scored so many goals. I haven't watched most of the O in a couple seasons though, which sucks, because we've had Galchenyuk, Yakupov, Murphy, and Boucher here over the past 2-3 years.

The transition from the OHL to the NHL is big. Steven Stamkos used to be able to do wonders with the puck with his speed from his blue line, but struggles big time doing so in the NHL. Obviously, he had a puck carrier on his line for the Sting though. Some players you just know are going to make it, like Ryan Wilson. Reid Boucher, I'm not 100% sold on.

I think we should wait until players play a few games in the NHL or are atleast high end prospects before we start making threads about them.

Yeah, I don't see why this thread is here. Post it in the prospects forum. Or maybe in the Offseason thread, but this doesn't need its own thread.

Instead of posting that next time, just hit the back button. Thanks!

And to the OP, he's definitely a good scoring prospect. Not on the levels of someone like Rattie, but he's still a solid prospect.

You obviously read what it said, and it's still 100% true. It's just not worth getting an infraction over pointing out the obvious.
