    Red Sawx @ A's (7/12 - 7/14)

    @

    Game 1
    Friday, July 12

    _________
    John Lackey__________Jarrod Parker

Other guys: Lackey has been nothing short of dominant the last few weeks. The righty thinks this is the best first half of his career. Opponents are hitting just .243 against him. Lackey has gone seven-plus innings in his last five starts.
A's: Parker received a no-decision after allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings against the Royals last Saturday, a week after exiting a start with right hamstring tightness.

    Game 2
    Saturday, July 13

    _________
    Jon Lester__________AJ Griffin

[b]Lester regressed in his last outing, allowing the Mariners five runs over five-plus frames Monday. Since May 20, the lefty is 2-5 with a 6.49 ERA in 10 starts. The workload may be wearing on the veteran, who is No. 5 in pitches in the AL since 2008.
A's: After allowing seven runs in his previous start, Griffin rebounded nicely Saturday, allowing the Royals two runs on five hits -- including two home runs -- and one walk with four strikeouts in five innings for the win.

    Game 3
    Sunday, July 14

    _________
    Brandon Workman__________Bartolo Colon

Other guys: This will be the first career start for the 24 year old righty. He's posted solid stats in his minor league career and he features a heavy fastball and a curve. I'm sure the A's can give this rookie ***** a warm welcome. Rawr.
A's: In his 11th consecutive quality start, Colon tossed seven innings of one-run ball, scattering seven hits and one walk with five whiffs against the Pirates on Sunday.

It's only been 3 innings but I want to throw something at the TV. A's look horrible against a guy that throws low 90's heat and an 86-87 slider. Absolutely nothing else in his repertoire

Lackey is back in his old form. He's striking guys out like he was back in his Angels days and he's walking fewer. He's giving up the ding dongs but other than that he's pitched great this year. Possible comeback player of the year candidate IMO.

I missed the whole series, but did get to listen to the 3rd game as I drove back into the bay area. Josh ****in Donaldson! This was his "**** you MLB" game before the all-star game. Love it!

And yet again we get another series win! Its great to take 2/3 from the very good Red Sox going into the break.
    49ers, Athletics, Warriors = Life!

    49ers = 12-4
Warriors = 49-31 Making it rain!
A's = 8-4 Back to Back AL West Champs!
    WINNING!

I'm still mortified that the players chose Machado over Donaldson. Lol what a huge difference between the two. Donnie is 94 points ahead in OPS
