    Article on Dom Brown

    http://irfast.blogspot.com/2013/07/e...owns-2013.html

Good research though the writing needs some work.

Clint takes a closer look at swing patterns and determines that Brown is either having a fluky/lucky season or has changed his approach to swing at higher pitches on average. Likely there is some combination of the two.

He also concludes that it's unlikely for Brown to have realized a change in skill set based on the data. It's really just a slight alteration of approach with the same skill set.

edit: to be clear, Brown IS swinging at higher pitches on average this year. Without inside knowledge, it's debatable whether this is due to an actual change in approach or just small sample size fun.

Yikes it's true he is not hitting grounders, but the thing is that pitchers will adjust throwing him low strikes right?

That's a little bit harder of an adjustment than it might seem. High strikes are more often mistakes than low ones, so it's likely Brown is mostly jumping on pitches where the pitcher missed high. Certainly if there are scouting reports advising pitchers to work the upper zone, those will be discarded.

How often do they miss pitches high?
