When the Knicks finally picked up Kenyon Martin off the unemployment line last season it seemed like there could be a fit — he brought the kind of inside hustle and play they needed.

    A few teams took notice.

And now that Martin is a free agent he has a few suitors, reports Chris Broussard at ESPN.

    Chris Broussard @Chris_Broussard

Teams interested in Kenyon Martin: Lakers, Clippers, Spurs, Knicks, Nets, source says
What is interesting is pretty much every team there is a veteran squad looking to pick up a guy on a minimum contract. Maybe a team would use part of the tax-payer’s mid-level exception, but none of those teams is are paying much for this reserve big set to turn 36.

Still, he can play some. Martin averaged 7.2 points on 60.2 percent shooting and 5.3 rebounds a game. He also made some big defense plays for the Knicks.

He could be a good fit on any of the teams on that list, but it will come down to can offer the most money or a couple of years. It’s always about the money.

Metta + Kenyon would probably kill 3 opposing players per game

He has to take vets min to come to LA don't want him for too much more than that.. If he's cheap don't mind him. A guy who can come off the bench & olay solid minutes. Hopefully be our "Birdman"

Kenyon is a little to "thugish" for me, but then again we have world peace. Those two should be formidable on the defensive end.

Good match with Mullens. Now we need amnesty Pau and convince Kobe to sit out.

    Mullens
    Kmart
    Metta
    Meeks
    Nash

Worst team in the NBA there. Wiggins baby

    1. We're the Lakers we don't tank. 2. Dwight is coming back. 3. He's perfect fit to come off the bench. 4. You don't! "Convince" Kobe to sit out a year.. lol

Kobe may be open to the idea if it means saving his legs and building a contender.

If Dwight doesn't come back, I'd seriously want Kobe to consider sitting out most of the year. I know he won't, but it honestly makes sense to suck next year than be an 8th seed.

If Kobe pushes it, and he probably will because MDA has no idea how to control his minutes, Kobe will be done for good.

MDA can destroy the rest of Kobe's career if he's not careful

Man, can't MDA just get fired already?! This guy is destroying this franchise with his bare hands. Damn you to hell Jim Buss.

Martin did a solid job for an injured/depleted Knicks front court, our priority with the 3 mill they have to spend should be to upgrade SF then after try to sign a player like K-Mart.

    Sure, sign him.

    Only for the minimum though.
