Now that we have 3 options at PF who do you start?.. Assuming Health...

Carmelo Anthony - With Melo starting at the 4 the Knicks are playing near .700 ball. On the flip side to that he is undersized which isn't an issue on most nights.. But against some of the bigger teams that play good defense (Indiana, Memphis, Chicago, Brooklyn). It can work against us..

Amar'e Stoudemire - Injuries have pretty much made this guy irrelevant. He can't play a lick of defense and it has gotten considerably worse as his knees deteriorate. He has improved his post play considerably and is a pick and pop/roll threat who has shown the propensity to hit the 17 footer at a decent clip in his career.

Andrea Bargnani - Last year he shot 30% from distance... It is said that he is a floor spacer but if he continues to shoot at that clip defenses won't respect him. I fully expect Dave Hopla to get him shooting the ball better for next season and I also expect him to play better with the change of scenery. This guy doesn't defend or rebound. But his game would compliment Melo's more so than Stoudemire because of his touch from distance..

    Who starts?..

If healthy.. I am going with Stoudemire simply because I believe he give us the best chance to win. Also if he is only playing 25 minutes a game Bargnani will have plenty of time to impact the game as well..

Bargs because it actually makes sense and forms a complimentary frontline.

    You start Bargs.....

Melo has proven to be a matchup nightmare at PF....but it isn't worth the wear and tear of guarding the opposing 4 at the other end (esp if his name is Carlos Boozer or David West) I would rather keep him off the block and keep him fresh for the playoffs...

Stat is Stat.....but at this point of his career his knees are fragile and can no longer play starters minutes....he needs to have a minutes restriction for the duration of his career.....he carved himself a nice niche in his bench role last season....keep him there....

With Bargs at the 4....you stretch the floor for Melo, Shump and Felton and create tons of driving lanes....imagine if we had bargs in the Indy series....play him at C and he's either gonna kill you from 3...or create massive lanes for Shump and Melo by dragging Hibbert out the paint...

Who ever creates a bigger mismatch ..after all it doesn't matter bc they both will play like Sfs and do their thing and the D will guard them with whoever they want as well..

    Carmelo Starts.
Amare and Andrea are the backup Center and PF, respectfully.

    PF - Bargs
    SF - Melo

should be great spacing on the floor with these two.. Stat off the bench (PF/C)

Bargs makes the most sense... but Woody is obsessed with this Melo at the 4 thing so we shall see.

But Bargs should be playing next to Tyson, and spreading the court for Melo at the same time.

And you def don't want Amare & Bargs off the bench together, we'd get murdered on defense.

The whole reason Grunny even went out and got Bargs is to start him with Chandler and Melo. In theory it creates a well balanced attack with Chandler in the paint and Bargs clearing room for Melo to do his thang.

Bargs hands down. There shouldn't be an option. Hopfully we have Amare for 20 min a game and KMart back as backups so Melo never has to play 4 again. Teams guard him with a sf anyway and we haven't had another option to attract defensive attention.

And we get out rebounded twice as much.

You're just going to pretend to know the reason to Glen traded for him?

didn't matter who we threw out there....Indy was gonna outrebound us....

Woody failed when he played into their hands by starting "big"....you beat those teams with floor spacing and knocking down shots....ask Miami...

Not much of a fan of Bargnani, but Bargs adds to our team floor spacing....it's like playing small ball with two 7 footers...

Same here. Barg opens up the floor for Melo to operate. Gives our PG two P&R big men to work with. Plus Woody loves the double pick and roll... so I see lots of options with our starting squad. Then Prigs/(Brooks or Bynum), JR, Tony Allen and Amare come in to supplement. That's a solid 9 man rotation. 10 if Glen also adds Kmart and/or Brand.
