Bulls targeting Mo Williams, Will Bynum

Mods: I apologize that the source is from a different board, but it certainly has credibility to it.

With uncertainty in the backcourt, the Chicago Bulls are showing significant interest in Mo Williams and Will Bynum and have started exploratory discussions with the representatives of the free agent guards, league sources told ******.

Williams averaged 12.9 points in 46 games a season ago with the Utah Jazz, and he has a stated desire to receive heavy, contributing minutes. The Jazz acquired Trey Burke at No. 9 in the NBA draft and could start him early in his NBA career. At 30, Williams has established himself as a combo guard, and Tom Thibodeau would undoubtedly place the 10-year veteran in shooting and playmaking situations.

Mo Williams could be a pretty good scoring option off the bench with kirk guarding the wings off the bench.

    Monta ellis was also mentioned,

this makes me think that maybe the bulls arnt sure about Derricks ACL.

Maybe a move for Teague ???

Bulls will inquire on everyone and will keep in touch with them while they're still available.

    Their bargain chip: VETERAN MINIMUM

I don't see any problem with that

I highly doubt that. It has more to do with scoring and kirk staying healthy.

Since our backup PG will more than likely miss most of the season, it's probably a good move to sign a decent 3rd string PG.

Highly doubt it has anything to do with Rose's knee. I think it's just veteran guys who can come in and contribute, remember the bulls are looking for shooting and offense so they're gonna be linked to a lot of FAs this offseason.

If we're going to lose Nate I think they want a guy that could fill in as the scorer off the bench.

It's early, but I'm not liking what I've seen from the Bulls so far this off season

If this is for replacing KH12 this year just play Teague and give him some burn.

Hell, Bring back Mike James before you do something like this.

Typical PSD overreactions to bench signings. Saw the same stuff when we signed Marco/Nazr/Nate last year.

Mo would be a great scoring spark and is consistently one of the better spot up shooters at the PG position. My worry with him would be health though. Bynum doesn't shoot the deep ball as well as I'd like, but he was a pretty solid scoring threat last year as well. Neither are ideal candidates, but that's what you get for these kind of deals.

Kirk has been injured and is plenty capable of minutes at SG as well, while Rose is coming off missing a full season. Teague is still raw too, so I don't get the "too many PGs" complaint.
