Westbrook will come off the DL to make his first start since May 8. After inflammation in his right elbow subsided, he made a pair of rehab starts in the Minors. He should be able to throw as many as 100 pitches, if needed.

Fernandez added another great chapter to his stellar rookie season, giving up one run on three hits and striking out seven in six innings against the Mets on June 8. He has notched back-to-back quality starts.

Lynn will take his second crack at his ninth win after taking a no-decision on Sunday. The Cardinals are 10-3 with Lynn on the mound, and he has won more games (26) since the start of 2012 than anyone else in baseball.

Koehler has now appeared in 20 big league games with seven starts, and he still seeks his first Major League win. He comes off a no-decision against the Mets. He overcame a slow start to give up four runs in seven innings.

    Day-to-day

    15-day DL

    Fernando Salas
June 6 - • Fernando Salas (right shoulder inflammation) has been cleared to play catch and take batting practice.
    MLB.com

    John Gast
May 26 - Left-hander John Gast left Saturday's start with shoulder tightness, and, on Sunday, the Cardinals placed him on the 15-day DL according to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com. Righty Michael Blazek has been recalled from Triple-A Memphis.
    CBS Sports

    60-day DL

    Chris Carpenter
    June 6 -
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Cardinals pitcher Chris Carpenter has thrown to hitters for the second time in four days as he tries to overcome a career-threatening nerve issue.
The St. Louis right-hander threw about 25 pitches to teammates Shane Robinson and Tony Cruz on Thursday. It was Carpenter's fourth outing in a possible comeback.
The former Cy Young winner hasn't pitched this season after feeling numbness in his throwing shoulder during spring training. Carpenter missed most of last year, then went 1-2 in the playoffs.
Carpenter didn't speak to the media before the Cardinals played Arizona. St. Louis manager Mike Matheny said Carpenter's pitches moved well.
Matheny said Carpenter's next step will likely be a similar session with live batters in a few days if his body feels well enough.
    Yahoo Sports

    Jaime Garcia
May 30 - Cardinals moved Jaime Garcia to the 60-day DL

    Jason Motte
May 7 - CHICAGO -- St. Louis Cardinals closer Jason Motte had season-ending Tommy John surgery on Tuesday.
Motte tweeted the ligament-replacement surgery on his right elbow "went well."
    ESPN

    Rafael Furcal
Mar 7 - JUPITER, Fla. -- St. Louis shortstop Rafael Furcal will undergo ligament replacement surgery in his right elbow and expects to miss the 2013 season.
Furcal made the decision after visiting Dr. James Andrew's clinic in Pensacola, Fla., on Wednesday.

I usually have the game thread up earlier than now, but I've had a lot of homework.

I didn't have a logo for Marlins Park, so I posted a picture of that ugly 80s dolphin thing. Sorry that you had to see that.

My bad. Thought I fixed that.

I've been scrambling around trying to finish my homework, so I didn't look it over well enough.

That HBP/foul tip looks more important with only a 1-run lead for them.

Reds and Brewers tied going into extra innings.

11-7 Cardinals mid-8th. Not a good start for Lynn, but we're winning anyway.

    Reds lost.

Ouch. Lyons is getting tagged lately. What are the chances he stays up to make another start? How long until we get Gast back?

Gast won't be back for awhile

Lyons might get one more just because Martinez is still stretching out and they don't wanna yoyo Wacha.

But Lyons is on his way out.
