    3-point shooting

San Antonio has proven to be unstoppable when hitting their 3s in these playoffs, Miami has the big 3 but they have little success if their role players aren't hitting their 3s at a high rate, it was certainly a huge factor in them winning it all last year. When we won back in 2004 we had several rotation guys that were threats from deep, Billups, RIP, Prince, Sheed, James, Okur and even Hunter at times. Last time we had free agent money to spend we signed 2 guys that could shoot but did little to nothing else, that's obviously not the way to do it.

I'm thinking we need to add at least 2 guys this summer that are serious threats from deep but can also contribute in other ways. Mayo probably isn't that guy especially considering what he would cost, Webster should definitely be considered, Ariza has really improved from deep, bringing back Calderon certainly wouldn't hurt, several other guys would be nice bench pieces as well. McCollum and Pope are the 2 guys in the draft that I like for this though i'm not sure about what position McCollum would play.

Caldwell-Pope will help us. He is a top notch spot up shooter, has NBA 3pt range already, has great size for his position (dunno where Mccollum will play, coming off the bench? Foye?), is a decent athlete and is great perimeter defender

Defense is mostly schemes and effort, having Drummond in the paint won't hurt either.

We need effective three point shooters for two reasons: A) When you actually make a ****ing shot, defenses get a chance to set up which is good for us and something that killed us all too often. B) 3's at an efficient clip can counterbalance our shittiness from time to time.

Toronto fan on why JVal is better than Drummond.

Basically yeah lol. A good shooting team is rarely out of a game and they also don't falter in the 4th quarter as we did so many times last year. I'm not saying our whole team needs to be perimeter oriented, it's nice to have a low-post threat like Monroe as well as a guy that can get to the hole to keep the defense honest.
