    Scutaro out 0-8 weeks

Scutaro has "mallet finger" which can put you out for 6-8 weeks. Nothing decided because there's a small chance he can play through it.

Giants will wait a week to put him on the DL.

And they'll have him go out and PH or something stupid right before just to make his DL trip unnecessarily longer.

    He wants to play:

Scutaro is telling coaches he wants to try to play as soon as pain subsides in another day or two.

Give him a couple days, then let him try to play. But don't wait a week and a half to put him on the DL.

Who changed the thread title from "0" to "6"? it's not set in stone that he's going on the DL... he might return this weekend...

After Googling mallet finger, that ish is gross. I can't see how a baseball player could play with that and be effective.

Might as well sit him out until his finger isn't crooked.

Bochy said Scutaro could return tomorrow, Pablo still on track for first game vs. #Dodgers and Pagan even closer than Sandoval. #SFGiants

Hopefully this is the truth. I have almost no trust in what the Giants say and do with injuries anymore.

While we're on the subject of injuries:
Santiago Casilla (knee) is expected to throw off a mound within the next week.
Casilla had a cyst removed from his right knee late last month but has recovered quicker than expected. It appears that he'll rejoin the Giants' bullpen prior to the All-Star break.

...and we don't have a Zack Wheeler to trade for a guy who'll be scape-goated for the team missing the playoffs.
