Cubs have been scouting the Giants -- Feldman? Garza? Schierholtz!?!?

Well I know the Cubs have scouted the Giants recently, and more than just their advance guy.

Hopefully it's Feldman, he's the best fit.

    You are kidding, of course.

Like, he's the best fit cause he routinely has a 5 plus ERA?

I don't like either of em. No problem shipping some junk over for Bud Norris, though. Like, I don't know, Lincecum, Vogelsong, Torres, Blanco, six prospects and 20 million.

Outside of 2010, Feldman has been pretty damn good, especially considering he pitched most of his career in a band box.

Do you mind if I ask what makes Norris a better option than Feldman or Garza for that matter?

    You're right, he is.

Would you trust a blind scout? Of course you wouldn't but that's what you do when you simply go by stats

Feldman is pitching great this year, finally healthy and won't cost near as much Garza, whose services I doubt we can afford in terms of talent going the other way. Almost every contender can outbid us for big time talent.

Garza is a local boy from Selma Ca went to Fresno St.

This would be a homecoming for him and maybe be the move he needs to get him to reach his potential... We add him he becomes our #3 guy in rotation... I see our park only helping him out.

It also enables Tim to move to the bullpen when Vogelsong gets back or if Gaudin continues to impress.

Quite a bit considering he's under control for the next 2.5 years.

The big drawback is I believe is price tag would be high. Too high for us considering our farm system isn't that great.

Already mentioned in the Cubs Forum over the past few days that the Giants indeed do have interest in Scott Feldman and Carlos Villanueva.

MUST.. RESIST.. URGE.. TO.. INSULT... rwdsijdpkadkapdadpkdpakkad[akd

Feldman is garbage. He is a 4.50 ERA pitcher at best. If you would have taken a second to look at his numbers you would see that.

Nothing has changed this year with him, his velocity is the same/down and his pitch selection is almost identical to last year. Look at his advanced stats to see the reason he is overachieving this year. Considerably higher LOB%(left on base percentage) coupled with career best BABIP.

As for the bandbox argument, other than 2009 Feldman has pitched considerably WORSE on the road than at home EVERY YEAR!!!

Still waiting to hear why Norris is a better option.

And congratulations on being able to resist insulting a mod, that would have went over well....
