Original report:Bucs LT Donald Penn has reportedly failed to meet "most" of the weight clauses in the six-year, $41.7 million contract he signed in 2010.
Penn has made 92 straight starts and graded out positively in Pro Football Focus' 2012 pass- and run-blocking ratings, but has the "occasional lazy streak" and sometimes "drives management crazy." Penn turned 30 in April. While his 2013 roster spot is obviously safe, Penn's 2014 salary jumps to a non-guaranteed $6.4 million in 2014. He can't afford to let his on-field performance slip.More athletes need to set the media straight this way.
