    Cecil Shorts our Secret Superstar

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...-cecil-shorts/

Shorts averaged 1.47 yards per snap, a higher average than some of the elite receivers in the NFL, including Andre Johnson, AJ Green, Dez Bryant and Julio Jones. Shorts averaged 2.31 Yards Per Route Run, which ranked him eighth in the NFL. Conversely from his rookie campaign, Jaguars’ quarterbacks had a lot of success when targeting Shorts, finishing the season with a QB rating of 94.5 on balls thrown his way, which was 15th-highest in the NFL. He will look to build on these numbers as he enters his third season in the NFL, this time as a starting wide receiver.

Those four weeks will be important for Shorts to prove that he belongs in the conversation as an up-and-coming elite wide receiver. He will most certainly garner a lot of attention from opposing defensive coordinators and may even face some double teams. For Shorts to fully emerge and become a true star he will have to cut down on his drops. He had the third-highest Drop Rate among wide receivers in the league last year, dropping 14.06% of the catchable passes thrown his way. Had he caught just one more of those passes he could have joined Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell as 1,000 yard Jaguars receivers. Maybe this is year…
hey Alpha them stats look awful good compared to lord Garbage

kinda looking forward to the first 4 weeks without Blackmon to see if Shorts is the Man(#1 WR) or Woman(#2 wr)

Man I wish they had picked Hopkins. I'm sure he and Gabbert would have clicked. Other than skin color they look and sound like brothers. Or twins. Same mannerisms. It's uncanny. I liked Swearinger more than Cyprien as well. Cyprien may be a better athlete but Swearinger has that leadership aura. They did get a lot of character in Sanders and Robinson, though.

Mike Thomas was a fourth round pick like Crapfilled Shorts, has three times as many career receptions to this point, and is the same age. Mike would still be playing ahead of Shorts if he didn't want out of Jacksonville so badly.

    catches dont mean everything.

Lets Break it down here for you alpha. Thomas was the #3 wr year 1 and moved to Number 2 wr then number 1 wr then down to 3.

Shorts was like last on DC rookie year and 4/5th the beginning the year and finished as 1/2.

AFTER Thomas quit on the team and Robinson went on IR for the year. Mike is the fourth receiver in Detroit and Robinson is unsigned at the moment. Tells you all you need to know about the quality of the Jags receiving corps.

Because teams are rightfully concerned about Robinsons Health obviously. as for thomas, was behind him cuz he was a D3 guy. it usually takes a lil bit longer for them to adjust to the NFL Compentition. However during the year he stepped up when he got his time to show wat he can do. hes our best wr by far.

Cec manages to get overrated after half a season as a starter. Shows how desperate the situation is in Jax.

If anything he is underated, he didnt even play 50% of the snaps till week 7 and missed the last 2 games and had some of the worst qb play in the league throwing him the ball and still almost got 1000 yds. So if anything he is underated.

He wasn't even the starter when Gabbert was in the lineup. Blackmon took half a season to learn the playbook and get in game shape. Plus it was by far the most difficult stretch of the Jaguar's shedule. Piling up garbage time stats when you're out of contention and no one takes you seriously anymore is worth NOTHING. That is what those two did last year. Like Cam Newton. They were playing for themselves.
