    Miami Marlins 13-34 @ Chicago White Sox 21-24 l 5/24-5/26

Miami Marlins VS Chicago White Sox

Game 1, Friday, May 24, 7:10 PM CDT

    VS

Name IP ERA K/9 BB/9 BABIP LOB% HR/9 FIP XFIP
    Koehler 22.1 2.82 6.85 3.63 .217 80.2 0.81 3.88 3.88
    Danks 0 0.00 0 0 .000 0 0 0.00 0.00
Koehler established career highs in innings (six), strikeouts (seven) and pitches (94) in his last start. It wasn't enough. He gave up one run, his first pitch resulting in a homer in a loss to the D-backs.
A year and five days after his last big league start, Danks returns to the mound for his 2013 debut. The veteran had season-ending arthroscopic surgery last Aug. 6 and started 2013 on the DL.

Game 2, Saturday, May 25, 6:15 PM CDT

    VS

Name IP ERA K/9 BB/9 BABIP LOB% HR/9 FIP XFIP
    Nolasco 61.1 3.96 7.34 2.05 .283 70.1 0.88 3.51 3.73
    Peavy 51.2 3.31 10.10 2.26 .278 77.4 1.22 3.30 3.13
Nolasco had his best outing against the D-backs on Sunday, earning the win after giving up only one run and striking out 11 in eight innings. In one career outing against the White Sox in 2010, he took the loss, giving up eight runs in 5 1/3 innings.
It was a rare walk on the wild side for Peavy during Sunday's loss at Anaheim, as the righty walked five in six innings after walking eight in his previous 45 2/3 innings. Peavy has fanned at least six in every start.

Game 3, Sunday, May 26, 1:10 PM CDT

    VS

Name IP ERA K/9 BB/9 BABIP LOB% HR/9 FIP XFIP
    Sanabia 51.1 4.56 4.91 4.21 .321 79.1 1.58 5.86 5.34
    Axelrod 52.2 4.13 4.82 2.41 .265 72.6 1.20 4.68 4.94
Sanabia gave up only one run in 6 1/3 innings on Monday against the Phillies to earn his third win, snapping a five-game losing streak. He induced two ground-ball double plays, upping his total to a National League-leading 12.
The right-hander shut down a hot-hitting Boston lineup on Monday, allowing two runs on four hits over six innings, while striking out two. Axelrod has worked at least six innings in six of his nine starts this season.

    More Stats

Who's hot: Placido Polanco is 4-for-10. Nolasco has allowed one earned run in two of his last three starts and struck out 11 in eight innings against the Diamondbacks on Sunday. The Sox have won six of nine. Alex Rios has a 17-game hitting streak.
Who's not: The Marlins have lost nine of 11. Former Sox left fielder Juan Pierre is 5-for-28. Sox relievers have a 9.98 ERA over their last five games. Adam Dunn is 1-for-11.

Would be nice to sweep but I have severe doubts about Danks' return at this time and also fear Axelrod is due a whooping at some point.

BTW - we have our own Juan Pierre in the form of Keppinger.

There just isn't any excitement this year. Even last year there was a feeling of doom hanging over the Sox and that's when they were in 1st place most of the year.

Winning 2 months in a row will bring some people back to the fold but thats only if those months records are like 19-10 and 17-13, something like that. In any other case its just too easy to be apathetic to this team

Gillaspie with 3 hits tonight. Definitely front runner for AL Rookie of the Year. Wish Peavy could have gotten the complete game shutout. But still nice to see him bounce back from a bit of a rough start.

Back to .500 and for the first time this year I have some positive thinking about the team.
