                                15 BB's 12

    Scouting Report:
Giants: After posting a 6.49 ERA in six April starts, Cain has yielded three earned runs over 15 1/3 innings -- a 1.76 ERA -- in back-to-back May wins. A difference: He yielded one homer in his previous two games, compared to nine in his first six.

Rockies: Chacin faced three bases-loaded situations and escaped two, allowing two runs on the other, in a 3-0 loss to the Cardinals in his last start. Chacin's battling kept the Rockies close, but Adam Wainwright threw a two-hitter.

    Game 2: Friday, May 17th @ 5:40 PM

    VS.
    Madison Bumgarner......Jorge De La Rosa

    Code:

                                0.93 WHIP 1.21
                                53.2 IP 45.1
                                54 K's 28
                                13 BB's 17

    Scouting Report:
Giants: Facing Atlanta, the 23-year-old recorded the 10th double-digit strikeout game of his career in his previous outing. Bumgarner owns a 3.14 career road ERA, virtually identical to his 3.08 home figure.

Rockies: De La Rosa hasn't given up a run in last two starts, victories over the Yankees and Cardinals. His scoreless streak is 14 innings -- three shy of his career best during a 16-win season in 2009.

    Game 3: Saturday, May 18th @ 5:10 PM

    VS.
    Tim Lincecum..........Juan Nicasio
    Code:

                                8 Starts 8
                                3 Wins 3
                                2 Losses 1
                                4.07 ERA 5.13
                                1.38 WHIP 1.41
                                48.2 IP 40.1
                                52 K's 27
                                23 BB's 17

    Scouting Report:
Giants: Lincecum bounced back after a pair of rough outings to throw seven innings of two-run ball vs. the Braves in his last start. The righty, who struck out seven to earn his third win of the season, has struck out at least six in five straight starts.

Rockies: Nicasio's last start showed greater efficiency than previous ones. He went six innings for the first time since April 3, but the Cubs touched him up for five runs and five extra-base hits in the first two innings.

    Game 4: Sunday, May 19th @ 1:10 PM

    VS.
    Barry Zito..........Jeff Francis
    Code:

                                8 Starts 8
                                3 Wins 2
                                2 Losses 3
                                3.40 ERA 6.00
                                1.44 WHIP 1.58
                                45.0 IP 36.0
                                27 K's 31
                                14 BB's 14

    Scouting Report:
Giants: Zito was roughed up for eight runs (five earned) in a loss to the Blue Jays his last outing and has now failed to win in four starts. The lefty faces a tough Rockies lineup on the road, where he has an 11.25 ERA over three starts.

Rockies: Francis saw the return of his changeup, which he'd lost earlier this season, and ended up with a stellar six innings -- seven strikeouts, three hits -- while throwing 80 pitches in a victory over the Cubs in his last start.

Lose the first, win the last three.

    Cain pitches an ok game.

Bumgarner and De La Rosa pitch a low scoring game, but the Giants come out with a win.

Lincecum pitches decent enough to win and the Giants kick around Nicasio.

Both teams kick around the opposing starter and a reliever gets the W for the Giants as they come home with a .500 road trip.

I could see the Giants taking 3 of 4, I still don't take the Rockies seriously...though Coors field scares me.

Well the pitching matchups favor us but that doesn't mean anything. I'm thinking this will probably be a split.

I'm hoping we see Cain and Lincecum build on last week's starts.

If Belt doesn't hit a dinger, Pill'll probably get the start tomorrow.
