    Chicago White Sox (15-20) @ Minnesota Twins (17-17) l 5/13 - 5/15

Chicago White Sox VS Minnesota Twins

Game 1, Monday, May 13, 7:10 PM CDT

    VS
    Hector Santiago (1-1, 1.69 ERA) ... Pedro Hernandez (1-0, 5.96 ERA)
Matt Harvey yielded one seventh-inning hit in nine innings Tuesday and still didn't beat the White Sox because of Santiago. The southpaw hurled seven scoreless in front of friends and family, striking out eight.
Hernandez turned in his worst-career outing on Wednesday against the Red Sox, as he lasted just two innings and gave up six runs on eight hits. But Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he'll remain in the rotation despite his recent struggles.

Game 2, Tuesday, May 14, 7:10 PM CDT

    VS
    Jake Peavy (4-1, 3.03 ERA) ... Kevin Correia (4-2, 3.09 ERA)
After missing his last start in Texas due to back spasms, Jake Peavy came back in fine form against the Mets by allowing just one run on three hits over 6 2/3 innings. Peavy struck out six, walked two and threw 114 pitches.
After starting out the year with five straight quality starts, Correia has fallen off a bit in his two most recent starts. He was so-so against the Red Sox on Thursday, giving up three runs on a season-high nine hits but still picked up the win.

Game 3, Wednesday, May 15, 12:10 PM CDT

    VS
    Dylan Axelrod (0-3, 4.17 ERA) ... Mike Pelfrey (3-3, 6.03 ERA)
For a seventh time in seven starts this season, Axelrod failed to get a win. He also had a string of four straight quality starts come to an end, allowing five earned runs on seven hits in six-plus innings, fanning six.
Pelfrey turned in his second straight quality start on Friday against the Orioles, but he struggled in his final inning. Pelfrey gave up three runs -- all in the sixth -- on nine hits and a walk as he was stuck with a no-decision.

    More Stats

Who's hot: Joe Mauer has an 11-game hitting streak and is hitting .445 in that stretch. Justin Morneau has hit safely in eight straight. Dayan Viciedo entered Sunday's game 11-for-20 with a six-game hitting streak. Alex Rios entered with a six-game hitting streak. Jesse Crain entered with a 13-game scoreless streak.
Who's not: Adam Dunn entered hitting .137 with 45 strikeouts. Josh Willingham entered in a 2-for-21 slump.

I like how Hawk originally referred to Jake Peavy and Paul Konerko as players with "the will to win." He has now stopped referring to Konerko and inserted Chris Sale. Amazing how "will to win" just happens to be correlated with talent.

This game has made me want to stop watching the team for the rest of the season. But I know that isn't going to happen.

    The Wizards' missing piece.

What's there to say? Not much to enjoy about this team. When I hit the sox website every a.m. the first thing I do is check out the minors affiliates. It's more exciting thinking about what might be in the future than to think about the present club.

Can the Sox DFA Casper Wells already and bring back Jordan Danks?

I've never been less interested in a team than this one in 8 years. We're turning into the Astros.

    They are desperately lacking TWTW.

The pitching is not the problem so far to begin the season. Everyone outside of Rios and Alexei are not hitting. Viciedo has been since his return from the DL but its a sample size so far.

On the bright side I think we have realistic shot at the #3 pick in the draft. I don't know if we can be bad enough to catch Miami or Houston, but who knows? Sit back, relax, and strap it down boys it's gonna be an exciting summer. #ThePushForNumberOneOverall

It's been awhile since they were this bad, I guess it was due. Looking forward to that top 5 pick.

    Chicago White Sox (15-20) @ Minnesota Twins (17-17) l 5/13 - 5/15

Peavy could bring in a huge haul as he would be owed only a season and a halves worth of salary and could still probably get compensation out of him.

The Rangers would be interesting trade partners, they have the prospects and team him back up with AJ.
